It'd be nice if Moyes went back to Manchester and finished them off for good.
But Erik ten Hag is doing a frankly superb job in that respect, leave him to it, I say.

So Spurs have lost 4 on the bounce, and are also Spurs. West Ham have lost 3 of their last 4, have nothing to play for and have given their most successful manager in decades the boot. Chelsea on the other hand, have finally found some form at last. I'm dreading Saturday.

Spurs in danager of losing europe place next season, really think they will be up for this and need a big performance - West Ham the manager situation has been cleared up so again think their players will be up for it - last home game and need to impress new manager. Actually think all the bottom 4 will lose, which would be a good result for us

I have keep reminding myself how shit Luton and Burnley actually are.

This is the pertinent factor

People keep talking about Spurs and West Ham's form, what they have to play for, yada yada yada, but the fact is neither side will need to get out of second gear to beat Burnley and Luton at home as both of those sides are totally shite

So shite that we have so far failed to win against either of those shite clubs.
You are ignoring the motivation that staying in the big league will give to the players.
They will be on some massive bonuses to take points in each of the 2 remaining games.
I assume Forest will also have big bonuses to give the players if we stay up, but we play against a Chelsea team that is finally finding some consistency.
Luton and Burnley go up against teams that are showing inconsistency.
West Ham players may well be fired up to impress new manager elect.
And Spurs players will either be fired up by their manager (who looks a fearsome creature), or will think "stuff it.. I can't be arsed.
If the players can't be arsed Luton will beat them because their plyers really are fired up.

Oh we are shite as well, just not quite as shite as Burnley or Luton, but they aren't playing us on Saturday, they're playing two clubs in the top ten

Teams are where they are in the league for a reason

You are ignoring the motivation that staying in the big league will give to the players.
Well ignoring for the moment that any such motivation hasn't done much for their results thus far, being motivated won't suddenly turn either side into Real Madrid. Spurs and West Ham still have far more quality in their sides

They will be on some massive bonuses to take points in each of the 2 remaining games.

People have been talking about Luton's spirit and being fired up all bloody season; literally I've heard that line on here time and time again

It's got them absolutely sod all in terms of results

That's the worry I have.

Luton are a very limited side at this level in terms of squad depth and ability but they always go for it. There's a reason they've managed to get so many late goals this season and, aside from a few expected batterings, they're often still in games right up until the end.

They'll be well up for this game and will probably expect us to lose to Chelsea and aim to go into the final matchday level on points - which they'd have bitten your hand off for if offered at the start of the season.

They may well still go onto lose to West Ham, but it won't be for the want of trying - and if West Ham aren't up for the battle, it could be a long afternoon for us watching on.

On paper we should be OK but Luton deserve respect for their guts and we could learn something from them in that respect. Just watch their last 10 minutes against Everton, they could have score two or three.

I reckon we’d be well served by not breaking the rules again and introducing proper controls
to prevent this fiasco reoccurring.
Doesn’t have to involve selling MGW or Murillo on the cheap. A £10m interest free loan from a subsidiary or something ought to do it.

Give it a rest Max.
SC wasn't undermined at the beginning of the season when we didn't beat Luton, Burnley, Brentford and Everton, the table shows that apart from Sheff Utd (who we beat in injury time) these were our easiest matches of the season and all at home - and we won none of them.
That is why SC got sacked and why we aren't 8 points better off in mid table.

Agree with that

Everyone was saying we were doing well because we didn't get thrashed in the away games against the big clubs, but those results you mention were disastrous and the biggest cause of our current position

Second biggest cause is bad goalkeeping. Third biggest cause is Taiwo being injured.

And I don’t like the rules.

But winging it and then complaining afterwards was ridiculous.

What choice did we have?

1) Reject the rules and get denied our place in the PL
2) Accept the rules and abide them, end up like Sheff Utd or Luton back to where we started 12 months later.
3) Accept the rules, f***-about and find-out if they get enforced given that they'd never really been enforced prior.

We didn't have much of a choice. "Whinging about it after" is fair enough if they come down like a tonne of bricks on wee old Forest but not Chelsea or Man City.

Whole Premier League charade is just bullshit from their FFP sack o' shite through to their referees.

Football in this country needs an independent regulator. Now.
