Don't they lay on extra trains to and from Falmer for Brighton home games?

Falmer station is pretty much the only way to get to the stadium via public transport so they'll have to sort something unless they want the game to be played in front of about twenty people

I though that due to the awful location of the ground that if trains were not running to Falmer then Brighton matches were postponed?
Haven't heard of that. But it would make sense.

They'll probably lay on busses
Can you imagine 30k+ trying to get onto double deckers from Brighton seafront out to Falmer in time for the kick off?
It was horrendous at Reading, and they do it every home game.

It’s the worst Premiership ground to park at and the trains are awful coming out, big queues. There is a park and ride but that’s awful as well.

Anyone thinking of driving, DO NOT park in official car park. Takes two hours to get out. Use Just Park website and get a driveway on the estate to southeast from the ground.

The Thameslink trains from London Bridge (which only take an hour) aren't running.
So will be trains from London Victoria to Brighton (which takes two hours).
Also, as Thameslink aren't running I'm not sure if the trains from Brighton to Falmer will be running. Which will cause major problems getting to the ground if they aren't.

There is a half hourly service from Victoria, via Littlehampton and Hove, which takes 2 hours.

The Thameslink services are starting north of Haywards Heath, so changing at Gatwick Airport for trains to and from St. Pancras is possible.

Trains are running to Falmer as normal, so roughly every 20 mins.

There's some chatter that the FA want all he games played on the Saturday.

Not only am I driving Forest on to glory with my confident, go win it beliefs, I also got 6 out of 8 of the teams to go through to the Quarter Finals.
I failed to predict Preston walloping Burnley, and I failed to predict Brighton overcoming Newcastle up in Newcastle.
The 6 I got right were possibly the most obvious choices, but the Cup is a great leveller, and 6 out of 8 isn't bad.
Anyone do better?

The four all Premier League 5th round ties all went to extra time and two to penalties. I guess that kills off any chance of them allowing replays to return at some point.

Extra time is also bleeding pointless really. If it's level after 90 just go straight to pens.

I've never really seen the point of extra time anyway - you've played for ninety minutes without a result, why play another thirty?

Just go straight to penalties
Nah, just go straight to a replay. Perfectly fair to have each team at home once, then if it’s still level sort it out by whatever means are deemed appropriate by those who, ahem, know best. Getting rid of replays was a stupid decision imposed to suit a very small handful of clubs at the expense of all the others.

Well yes in domestic cups I'm definitely for having replays, I was talking about playoffs, international tournaments etc

Looks like the QF window is Fri to Mon. 1 each day? With league matches for us, Brighton, Villa, Bournemouth & Fulham the Tues after.

Our match with Utd is on telly so recon we'll get Fri or Sat and see some rearrangements elsewhere.

But you still have to get a bus from Haywards Heath down to Brighton if using Thameslink. Or at least that's what it seems.

The only direct trains to Brighton that weekend are from Victoria, as you say.

Have to wonder if Brighton will try to request it played on the Friday night.

Just seeing that is amazing. How long did we go barely getting past the 3rd round of any competition?! Now we've had a semi and two quarter finals in a few years.

You still have to take a step back sometimes to realise how amazing things are at the minute

Just watching Murillo yesterday do that back heel flick and I am like WTF am I watching. I thought Danny Fox was a decent CB at one point.

I remember thinking we did well to sign Matt Mills and Jamie Ward on a free during Dougie Freedman's embargo days.

It's genuinely crazy to think how far we've come. I'm never taking things like what we are seeing now for granted.

I'm still confused as to why a team like Ipswich would make 9 changes for our game when a genuine chance at silverware was there. Or at the very least a trip to Wembley. If it was a midweek game 3 days before a relegation 6-pointer I could get it a bit more but it wasn't. It's even worse when you see perennial midtable clubs like Palace and West Ham making 11 changes in the 3rd round and then going out sometimes. Just what is the point of your existence!?

It's a sorry state of affairs for the game when clubs and even fans seem almost content to go out of a competition. To pass up a chance of glory. I've been guilty of it myself in the past.

I understand that the game has changed a bit now with sports science etc but Cloughie used to put his best side for every single competition. Sport is about glory and you should be aiming to win every single competition you're in surely.

All about that lucrative spot in the PL. In our last few seasons I'd have happily given up cup runs while we fought for survival. I still think a Cunha-less Wolves will be too much for them to catch though.

Agree about it being a sorry state though.
