Thoroughly enjoyed the massive six-pointer at the bottom of the 2. Bundesliga this lunchtime, which saw 1. FC Kaiserslautern travel to FC Hansa Rostock in the battle to escape the drop.

‚Lautern Won, 0-3, with Hansa being reduced to ten men, Ragnar Ache (who has currently possibly the greatest name in German football) was decisive, scoring a hat-trick with three fine finishes, in a win which took Lautern up to 15th.

Meanwhile in Darmstadt, after 30 minutes it’s Darmstadt 0, Augsburg 5.

No, that’s not a mis-typing.

Wolfsburg 2, Stuttgart 3.

Serhou Guirassy with the Doppelpack, and Josha Vagnoman secure three points for Die Schwaben. Vagnoman had another goal harshly ruled out for offside, too. And he‘s a full back.

With ten rounds of matches to play, the VfB are comfortably in third place, six points ahead of Dortmund and seven ahead of Leipzig, and it might well be European football on the banks of the Neckar, next season.

Well the Man City game is over - 2 in less than 10 mins - the 2nd goal Turner would be proud of, weak wrists and let an easy goal go into the net

I was born in the middle of an all out war to save our country.

I don't care how we behave and how brilliant the Germans are, I will not have a bloody German preach to me.

Sorry mods. You can cancel this post if necessary. I feel better for it.

Some fantastic news in Stuttgart this morning, as the VfB announces that highly-rated Coach Sebastian Höneß has extended his contract until June 2027:

The 41-year old Coach was previously under contract until June 2025, and this is a massive statement of intent from the club, who are contemplating the chance of European football next season under his guidance.

Also, hands-off, FC Bayern!

28 minutes played in München, and Harry Kane has scored one and set another up already, Leon Goretzka heading home after a Kane header came back off the post.

If the England man keeps up this form, it can only bode well for Euro2024.

Make that a Doppelpack for Harry Kane, as a delicious Goretzka through-ball feeds him and he pokes it past the Mainz keeper for 3-1.

Well, if you get chance to see highlights of Serge Gnabry‘s absolutely ridiculous/outrageous back-heeled goal for Bayern, well, you might enjoy it.

6-1 Bayern, and it could have been more.

Meanwhile in the derby, it’s Gladbach 2, Köln 2, in another pulsating encounter.

The Premier League really needs to adopt the Konferenz format, because it’s mint.

Edit; make that now 3-2 Gladbach!

And Harry Kane now has a Dreierpack, Bayern 7, Mainz 1, and there’s still 20 minutes to play.

Jadon Sancho scores his first goal since his return to Dortmund; Die Schwarzgelb now lead Werder, 0-2.

Watching Bayer Leverkusen v Wolfsburg. Leverkusen have just gone 1-0 up.

Leverkusen look a very well oiled machine. Every single player knows their role on the pitch. Seamless. Grimaldo is so important to the way they play. Also, Florian Wirtz is an absolute pleasure to watch.

And this is a Werkself with pretty much the same squad as when Alonso took over when they were flirting with relegation, and they’re missing the injured Victor Boniface too. They are so well-organised, and players can move about, knowing there is always someone to fill in and cover.

They’re a cracking side to watch, for the neutral.

You can clearly see that. Whenever a Leverkusen player loses the ball, the positioning and quick reactions to get the ball back are second to none.

They look like a title winning team. Unbeaten in all competitions this season? Incredible.

Yeah, they’ve pulled the gap back to ten again, if the score stays like this, and with Wolfsburg down to ten men, you could see a win coming for the home side; and Bayern are still wobbling a bit, so with nine rounds of matches to play, it’s hard to see past Leverkusen at the moment, so weil has Xabi Alonso got them playing.

Bayern might well be looking over their shoulder at bit too, a certain team from the south-west are four points behind them, and they still have to play each other.
