Through to the Greek Cup semis after beating Panathinaikos 1-0 at home. This is the 90 + 4' winner by the aforementioned 18-year-old Christos Mouzakitis. This kid is going places.

A few minutes before that, Biancone won a penalty but El Kaabi hit the post.

Both those kids they have are scoring late winners, that one is incredible

Hoping we have first dibs on both & hopefully both stay there for a few years yet

Yes, they have shown character and maturity beyond their age. I also hope Forest have first dibs on them, but they are also valuable assets and worth a lot. It all depends on what EM wants to get out of them, and when. But my guess is they'll be here for the next year at least.

Some finish that!

I doubt you have first dibs. It would not make sense financially for EM: young talent should only be sold for silly money, for a large suprlus value, and it does not make sense for the silly money to come from the owner's other pocket. I can only envisage one lucrative for EM scenario in which our talent goes to Forest: if a player who is clearly above the level of our league wants to make it in the Premier and e.g. asks for silly money to sign a new contract, he could be sold to Forest for a 'normal' price with us retaining a sell-on clause. Other than that scenario, a big sale between the two clubs does not make sense to me.

Looking from a slightly different angle, while by no means saying your take is not correct - you may well be on the money, I wonder if PL tax might be factored into long term value?

Ie silly money gets even sillier after a couple of years doing it in the PL. As you say, sell on clause there would benefit both and they'd look for maximum value further down the line.

(I guess it would come down to value at the point of looking to move on?)

Perhaps you're right; but one also needs to factor in the optics: selling to the other team would look very bad in the eyes of our fans I think, because it would be construed as not getting enough money for a much beloved player (both kids have cult status already).

You'll understand the nuance and culture behind Marinakis' decision making far greater than I will; I was thinking along the lines of if he has someone really special he'd want to keep them within his clubs but hadn't thought of the implications to optics. Interesting times!

That does make sense, but sanctioning a transfer to a Forest rival could potentially present a dilemma for EM.

GBG, how’s the Oly view of how much time he’s spending watching us and how he reacting / into the games? Is he spending as much time watching Oly?
Can see how he’s going to have to be careful to keep both sets of fans onside

That seems the best solution.

Highest ever transfer from Greek Super League was 20m Euros.

Plays for Forest and he does well in the EPL over two seasons? 3-4 times that.

Olly sell for 25m Euros to us and a 30% sell on clause.

Forest sell for 80m after two seasons:

Olly make 49m (25 + 24m)

Forest make 41m (80m -15m amortised and 24m sell-on fee) and have their own sell-on clause.

No pressure on the young lad then ;)

As usual, when things go well Forest is not an issue, when they don't, or not enough money is given for transfers, moaners will moan.

But moaners will moan anyway, and if we do one thing well that's moaning, so I wouldn't read much into it.

Out of interest how are Forest currently regarded by Oly fans, is there any jealousy/admiration any sense of connection to us at all?

As I said, moaners will moan. For part of the fans, Forest's success is a source of joy and admiration; others are in a "don't bust our balls with Forest, OK?".

Safe to say Oly are going to enjoy the 2nd leg of the Greek cup semi final away at AEK considering they won 6-0 in the first leg.

The funny thing is we rested several players and played with many benchers. One of those benchers who stood out is Ola Aina's compatriot and fellow full-back in the Nigerian national team Bruno Onyemaechi, whom we signed this January. I'm sure Aina was asked about him before we signed him.

The Greek U17 final was on TV so I thought I'd give it a go. Usually these games are clumsy and dull, but this was very spectacular (we won against PAOK 5-4 in overtime). It was the first time I watched a player for whom there's a lot of buzz in the media, Charalampos Kostoulas, striker, son of a former player of ours (his brother is a very good CB, playing for the U19). It's impressive to see someone so clearly above his age group in all aspects of his game. He has just turned 16, but he's built like an ox, with good pace, very good on and off the ball, tireless, and with a killer instinct for goal (he scored two spectacular ones today). He's already playing with the U23 and our new DoF wants to promote him to the first team already.

I don't think our academy has ever produced a really good striker (it's mostly defenders and midfielders who make it to the first team), and I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of player he'll grow up to be.
Lots of links to this guy this week, but other clubs linked to him as well and when I say other clubs, we are talking giants like Real Madrid, Bayern, Juve but even relegation strugglers like Manchester United.

Surely after all the favours we have done for our Greek cousins, we should be given preference. I am sure the player in question would see us as a logical next step.

Forest are magic on and off the pitch!

Currently losing to Bodo/Glimt but it’s been all oly since they conceded. Also Yarumchuk had the whole goal to shoot at and picked the space occupied by the keeper.
