The ‘I have something to say about Forest that doesn’t warrant its own thread’ Thread

I think it was ‘sing’ as well,Frank (although I’m not 100% sure).
I am sure that the first song I heard at Forest in 1966 was-

‘Aye,Aye,Aye,Aye-Grummitt is better than Yashin
Baker is better than Eusebio
And Arsenal are in for a thrashin’

Not exactly-but Forest beat Arsenal 2-1 in my first game in November 1966 (Ian Storey-Moore and John
Barnwell scoring the goals).
Not that this clinches the argument, but by chance I have come across a letter in a 2015 issue of When Saturday Comes where the writer also remembers the words of the Joe Baker / Grocer Jack song as “…Trent End sing”.

In the meantime I had a look at one of the versions of Keith West’s song on YouTube (which if I recall correctly had “say” rather than “sing”), where, in between the bits he sings, Keith gamely looks vaguely in the direction of a film insert of young kids playing grocers, which seems to be right out of the Pan’s People / Legs n Co School of Earnestly Literal Interpretation of Lyrics… Maybe it would all make sense if I also researched the background to the whole Excerpt From A Teenage Opera thing, but by this point I’d already spent 3 minutes I’ll never get back…

I don't think Keith actually got round to finishing it Ian.

Unless I'm mistaken, he used to be in a band called Tomorrow which had a minor hit with a record called My White Bicycle. I remember them playing down the Dungeon a couple of years previously. I don't think I'm being unfair by describing them as a poor man's Pink Floyd.

Sorry to post something so sad, but my good Skeggy friend died at only 52, his daughter posted this on facebook asking you to sing your hearts out in his memory. Here's the link: Richard Staples a fellow Tricky died so young

and heres the post for those who don't have Facebook

Edit: for some reason the image isn't uploading 🤷🏻
If the image is too big (and it may well be) use the option to reduce it in size.

You're already not supposed to park on a junction though, even if there aren't any yellow lines:

Ian Moore Gone Little, I loved all the Trent End songs back in the 60's and most came from Pop songs ie Barry Lyons , Hennessey and The king. Also the heavy/gravelly voice of the one who started Zigger Zagger........ and Wiggy Wiggy Wiggy......
Otis I would have loved to experience the Dungeon but I'm old enough now and that would make me even older 😎

And the original
"Nah nah naaah nah,
Nah Nah Naaah nah,
Hey hey hey
Peter Cormack!

That was a particular favourite of mine, becuase Cormack was such a brilliant player.

Not got much to say other than well done the club, great work. Forests new Australian netball coach is hot and check out poor old Taiwo moving about on 0:35 seconds 😳

I would have said Norris might have entered an incorrect membership number but are yours and your kids number in sequence?
Nope. Completely different numbers

Looks a bit suspect.
Go into your ticket account, and manage your myforest network and remove this person if they're shown there, assuming you don't know them

I would also forward the email to nffc ticketing with a note

Got the stadium tour this coming Friday, with a 10% discount in the megastore to be used on the day. Does anyone know if you can have a name printed on the back to a shirt you've purchased not on the day?

I've got last years home shirt and this years away shirt I was thinking of getting printed. Both purchased at the megastore, but unsure whether they'd be funny about having shirts printed that haven't been bought on the day.

I just looked it up and he was with Tomorrow and did record My White Bicycle

I hadn't realised that Nazareth's version was a cover.
