Very good today, shackled that slippery f***er Traore from the moment he came on. Played some really nice stuff, defended well.
I'm not going to give him mustard status but he was damn close.

Absolutely vital he stays fit for the remainder of the season. With him and Williams at fullback we have balance in attack and defence which will help the CBs manage the game

His ability to run past their attackers/wingers and get us up field was essential. Him and Neco look really dynamic and add a different dimension to our attacks. Aina is so relaxed on the ball and his coolness contributed to some lovely play through the lines.
He's relaxed full stop, which is he only negative with him really - there are times when he has a very brief 'off' moment. Good footballer though.

Ola absolutely ABSOLUTELY pocketed that oiled up Mr Olympia winger, it was ridiculous.

Aina is a fabulous player. I thought he was great early season, I defended him v Fulham as I think he does have a relaxed, languid style which in certain games that go badly is maybe misinterpreted. He was brilliant at home v Man Utd and was happy when he came back in the team last week. Last night he showed he is good defensively and a real threat running forward.

Some real funny comments at the beginning of this thread, signing Ola was likened to Layrea, was a panic signing, “Oly must need a left back” type shit.

Glad he’s turned out good, defended him from the start and especially after that Fulham game. I thought he was getting unfairly singled out by fans after that game of which everyone was a 0/10. Hell, even Matt Davies on his podcast loved to bring up the fact Ola looked shit against Fulham even tho at the time he was looking like signing of the season. Now he’s backed off but it did piss me off.

He's done what I expected and become a solid signing for us - all the clues were there that he would: decent stats, PL appearances from fans who'd have him back, 100 top flight appearances since then in serie A.

Fingers crossed he does enough to negotiate a longer term one next year - that he covers multiple positions will help him there I think. Very useful player in a 25 man squad.

In fairness, he looked like he was putting the least effort in out of everyone - on a day when that was quite the achievement.

He looks like that most of the time when he plays to be fair.

Mangala got stick that day too for changing shirts iirc - suspect Aina wasn't helped by being a former Fulham player; he was having chats at the end with ex-colleagues I think.

He properly put a shift in, and showed he can compete against the PL‘s best.
