I knew it!The assumption that all of the photos of him were taken today, interviews done etc and perhaps all be made official tomorrow?
Yep. Both signings are a huge statement of intent by the club. With Taiwo signing and Henderson shortly that will also help convince other players that we are making some serious signings and don't intend on being in a relegation fight.
Good signings beget more good signings.

Thanks for the summary Razar. So to summarise the Athletic article:
- Very very good at pressing.
- Played in a 3-5-2 in a team that didn't have much possession, all the teams that had less average possession than Union last season were relegated.
- Is very quick & physical.
- Hit & miss finisher but gets into the right positions (but scores those he expects too), the club believe he could develop into a 20 goal striker.
- Needs work on his hold up play, but better at running in behind.
You look at all his goals and most of them are him running at goal from a counter attack.
I still feel we have missed some good value by not signing zink and Wallace. Good options to have that will fit our system at least as back up / bench options. Also with zink knowing the club it is less squad transitionThis is excellent news, Henderson and Awoniyi confirmed. Fantastic start to the pre-season, and shows that the club is buying the right kinds of players for the right positions. Managed to secure a top quality keeper really quick after Samba's decision to leave, and snap up a striker that looks like he could do the business.
Also apparently opening talks with Williams, just need to get both of the WB positions sorted, a solid CM/DM and an AM and we will start looking like a good starting 11.
What does worry me is our depth, we are really going to need to sign quite a few more to be able to bring quality off the bench
Was sich bereits angebahnt hatte, ist nun offiziell: Union Berlin verliert mit Taiwo Awoniyi (24) seinen Top-Torjäger, kassiert dafür allerdings eine stattliche Ablösesumme.

A hard worker who is smart, keen to learn and improve on and off the pitch then. Good lad.Taiwo isn't a daft lad either
"Over a year ago, Awoniyi revealed that he was studying a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration alongside his goalscoring exploits for Union Berlin.
The striker also has a Diploma in Business Administration and Marketing Management"
He'll learn well under Coopers tutelage.

"When I look back at the games with Union Berlin, it was always about the team for me.
"When I look at Forest and look at the history of the club, it's even more about the team. This is the kind of place I love to belong to and I am ready for it.
"Every striker wants to score goals, but I'm ready to work for the team, to fight for every ball, to win every challenge, that's my style and that's what I'm here for."
Love that alreadyNicked off FB…..
ohhhh taiwo’s f*cking magic
he wears a magic hat
he could’ve signed for dortmund
but he said no f*ck that
he wants to play for cooper
in the famous red and white
and when we win the premier league
we’ll sing this song all night
Can't see us signing both Williams and Spence, spending £30m+ on two right backs when other positions need filling makes no sense. It'll be one or the other (or most likely neither, as I reckon both will end up elsewhere).2 in the bag... 8 more needed!
The next 3 I am praying to the Football Gods are: Williams, Spence and Gibbs-White.
Let's see that will hit the bank for another £55m in transfer fees, and weekly wages of £200k per week on top of what our wage bill was in the Championship!
These numbers may well be wrong (who knows), but right or wrong they are from a different universe to what we have been used too.
I now think Parachute Payments are a necessity

Just looking at his instagram he seems like a well grounded guy. Family man and very religious.First words: Taiwo Awoniyi
