I’d be happy to work with 22 players of a suitable standard-we have a decent nucleus already.
I personally think the 25 squad thing is a red herring and unnecessary-our 25 man lineup has
contained a fair bit of dross over the past 2 seasons.
We could add our 3 best youngsters if absolutely necessary.

That will be interesting to see what our approach is. Nuno is apparently keen to work with fewer players. So yeah, would he go 22 + a small number of u21s.

I reckon that’s borderline light on numbers personally, but time will tell.

Crazy to think he wasn't happy until he dwindled Wolves down to an 18 man squad, obviously the game was a little different then but still hard to imagine going into a season with such a small squad

You can only have a small squad if you can rely on non of them getting injured.

And the dynamic of 5 subs now changes things too as your bench needs to be deeper. 25 is the number we should be aiming for, anything less will be too slim.

Let's not act like we haven't had a squad of about 30+ recently and still been down to bare bones for large periods.

Its true, the sub thing has made such a difference because opposition teams can and have changed systems as well as personnel during the game.

We might be able to match more teams on a first 11 v first 11 basis but when they can bring on quality and we can't it does show.

Last season we dropped 26 points from games we were in winning positions as well so its an issue we need to fix.

I think we need 5/6 players on the basis there isn't any first team players players leaving. Need to get the Fringe players gone to allow more space in Wage Bill though

Well, they certainly accused us of that, but we certainly didn’t - and I even did them a favour, pointing out the (numerous) issues in their out-of-the-box website code that the spammers were exploiting to post all kinds of rubbish on their forum.

Cos I’m nice like that.

Surely Business ramps up from next week for all PL clubs as Euros and Copa America are over at the weekend.
It is important to get the majority of our business done before the season starts.

The good thing about our squad this season, is that we can start our first game with the best XI from last season. The only notable exception being Niakhate if we go with a back three.

If it takes longer to get the right players, that’s fine by me.

As someone else said, it looks like we’re following last years approach of asking about multiple players to work out the best value. It always pays off to shop around.
