Given the business we've done I wouldn't be disappointed if we didn't sign any of them, but given the amount of new faces, for team cohesion I think bringing Garner back would be great for the side.
I dunno I think we've got an upgrade on Garner in midfield with O'brein, has more energy and possibly even more ability than Garner.

Yeah I don't disagree. I just think Garner would be good to have around the place and a great bench option. But then if not starting is his issue at Man U then I doubt he'd want to swap their bench for ours.

I'd love to have Garner still. But also feeling a bit for Yates, I'd like to see what he can do in the Prem and he's already competing with LOB, Freuler, Mangala, and Kouyate.

True dat.... I'm sure in many ways he'd love to be back as he must love the club but he needs game time and a place he can make an impact. If I were him I think I'd consider somewhere like Watford - team up with Davis and the pair of them could work on promotion and staying with a team that won't do (can't do?) the kind of massive rebuilding and upgrade that we've done if they go up. For me he's just on the cusp between excellent Champ player and PL bench.

Garner is a tricky one because most fans would snap your hand off at a chance of bringing him back. We’ve seen how good he is and will only get better playing in the prem. After the Newcastle game I was saying how much we looked like we missed Garner.

However, with so many options in the midfield now it’s hard to find a place for him. Think the signing of Freuler makes a move for Garner unlikely. Part of me thinks that maybe Man Utd were trying to play hard ball, delaying the move till later in the window to try and get a better deal for him but if so that has backfired because we've just said sod it we'll find someone else.

I don't think Kouyate will get many games I think he'll just be a bench option who can cover a couple of positions and offer an experienced head in the dressing room with prem experience.

He probably won't start a game, used as a sub to go to either DM or CB position

Yeah so be Yates/Mangala & Freuler/O'Brien competing. If the plan is to go three in the middle for some games then I could see Garner fitting in and getting games. Would just take one or 2 injuries which are normal for all clubs and he'd be back as a starter. Whereas he's just making up the bench numbers at Man Utd til they buy some more midfielders.

I know that Nuno that I know that Nuno that I know
Remember all that moaning last season about lack of midfield bench options and the team being knackered because all we had was Cafu and Colback (who would have to switch from LWB)?

We now have 2 more substitutes available for use and we’ll need more depth.

Bringing an already assimilated Jimmy Garner in is a no brainier

Not usually one for us wanting to sign more numbers than we need, but I am also now in favour of bringing Jimmy back. He's a quality player who is only going to get better and knows the club. Get it done.

Lordy just had a weird moment of linking the keywords "Ryan" and "assimilated" together from two posts and now I can only think of is
