We could easily have lost Ben Osborn, had situations not changed. If Billy had lasted until summer, I fear he would have been released.

Why would he ?! Didn't BD have Osborn on the bench ? If we had lost Osborn , it would have been because of the estate. Frank Clark did say that they were opposed to giving the youngsters new contracts and were going to release them and he fought them for that.

I'm going by Billy's previous. Having a player on the bench once and not playing him, doesn't seem to mean much to him. Pearce seems happy to play Osborn over players who he brought in (e.g. Tesche). I never got the same impression with BD. I may be wrong though, it is only opinion. I'm very happy with where we are though.
