Steve Cooper will always be the MAN!

It’s simple. Which side of the fence are you on?

Simple question....were you at Wembly for the Play Off Final?

Did you experience the love? See grown men crying? Children experiencing something totally new to them? The pride and the passion? A sea of red not seen for over 30 years?
I was actually.

What is disappointing is the points we have dropped from winning positions:
- 3-2 vs Man U when 2-0 up
- 2-2 vs Luton when 2-0 up
- 3-2 vs W Ham when 2-1 up
- 3-2 vs Brighton when 1-0 up
- 1-1 vs Wolves when 1-0 up
We’d be in 7th place now if we’d have held on to all those leads.

Frightening.

Fine margins and all that.....

I understand Nuno is quite astute at organising a back line so that obviously has to be the main focus for he next few games anyway. Stop being such fannies!

So why say that Steve Cooper does things for his own advantage? Because from where I was sat, and for every game since he took over, he's looked totally genuine, acted with kindness and dignity, and has only had the club's interests at heart. And that encompasses the fans and the city.

He gave us belief and pride, and the least we can do, is give him the respect that he's earned

My biggest worry is that the City Ground goes back to being a place that intimidates our players and sucks the life out of them. Didn’t Karanka allude to that saying the expectation was too high and when things went wrong the quiet, on edge, crowd made it worse. Cooper has transformed that and it must be continued although booing had begun to return… which is unacceptable, we have to support the team

I haven't said that. I said that Cooper is undoubtedly sincere but is also a clever bloke who knows exactly what he is saying and the sort of reaction it will get.

It's just my opinion. But I won't go into it any further as it clearly is a sensitive topic for some.

Yes - I was there - a grown man of 60 crying.
But that was then - and now is now.
I was Cooper through and through - but unfortunately this change needed to happen.
In the last weeks there have been falling's out on the training ground, players banished from training, players not playing for the manager (Fulham away), strange team selections and tactics, baffling substitutions, throwing winning positions away on numerous occasions, and 1 win from 13 games.
I hope that Cooper goes on to learn from his mistakes and be successful - but we simply didn't have the luxury of time for him to learn and get it right here.

Yes you have.

Your implication was Coops was doing it entirely selfishly, for his own gain, and with a lack of respect to Nottingham and Nottingham Forest. And you’ve again been rightly called out on that.

I note you’ve still neither replied to either of my recent posts directly to you, nor have you, it seems, modified your posting behaviour yet.

As per yesterday’s post, clock is ticking.

You're wrong, but
I could list my arguments, you could list more of yours, but we won't agree for evermore, regardless.
I'd rather look forward now. We might have another decent coach on board.

What I will say is when he said after the Wolves game " I'm more re-assured now about our work and what we can achieve, than I've ever been", I believed him. He deserved everyone to believe him.

I didn't understand what he meant by that then - and still don't!
My interpretation was that he had given up on the ';new signings' and was going back to last seasons team - which seemed a very strange thing to say.

I doubt "our work" would just mean the 11 he picked on a game day.
People prefer to believe that the new signings were just out of favour all of a sudden and not trusted, banished for ever more to be just squad fillers.
Is it that much of a stretch to think he might have decided that they would be better off to be integrated more slowly, a bit like Mangala and Awoniyi last season, and do some work on the training pitch with them. After all, once the decision was made to go to a back 3, Williams, Boly, Felipe, Niakhate, Toffolo, Yates and Mangala had all played in that system for Cooper before. Dominguez, Sangare, Aina hadn't.

I was looking closely at the body language between Cooper and Maranakis on the pitch at Selhurst end of last season...basically not surprised the relationship wasn't good.

Maranakis is a step up from the big baby that was Fawaz but still he must be a b*tch to work for. Cooper did the best he could under the circumstances. 40 odd new players since getting promotion?! The man performed a miracle keeping us up imo.

As you say - different interpretations
The only thing that matters now - is that we all get behind Nuno and whatever team he picks tomorrow.
You Reds.
Going out on a Jolly Boys outing now

I was at Selhurst that day and I just thought Marinakis was a bit awkward because he didn't really know what to do on the pitch, but I bet he was really thinking... "Why on earth are these idiot fans partying like they've won the league, I can't sack Cooper now"

It must be a relief for Steve that he doesn't actually work for him anymore, I'm finding it very difficult to attach on to Nuno now, because undoubtedly he will fall out with the owner.

Well, yes. But not even the top teams like City, Arsenal and Liverpool always hold on to their leads.

Teams recover points from losing positions in the PL all the time (in fact it was also a criticism that we haven't been).

Even holding on to a couple of those wins would have made a fair amount of difference really.
