Steve Cooper will always be the MAN!

Anyone replacing Steve Cooper better come in as player manager and be a premier league class centre forward. That’s the only way a change in manager will be beneficial.

For F*** sakes, how is this even a conversation? :cautious:

We have just lost to Liverpool and it's sparked a discussion about the manager's future and potential replacements ffs. They've lost ONCE in ten games this season, hardly ever get beat at Anfield and we literally had no striker until halfway through the second half.

If we had won at Luton, we would have been either 12th or 13th. If we'd lost, we'd have been in the exact same position we are now with one less point.

Losing Taiwo to injury has been the difference maker, because either scoring or assisting, almost everything was coming from him. I have no doubt in my mind, if we had had T for the Burnley, Palace and Luton games we would have won.

This is how f***ing mental this conversation is. If we had won those three games, we would be on 16 points and 8th. Do you think there would be a single solitary soul talking about Julen Lopetegui if we're sitting in 8th place?

We have the same amount of points as all the teams in the relegation zone combined and have the same amount of wins as all the teams in the relegation zone combined.

Yes, we've spent money again this year but two things. One, we have the same issue we had last year in that we're trying to gel players but constantly having to change the team because of injuries. Two, we have a top ten midfield but we're short on quality up top, I don't think that is Steve's fault at all.

Taiwo is back in the 18. Felipe and Danilo are back on the grass. Yes, we'll probably lose to Villa and Brighton. It might be December before we win another game but I absolutely have 100% faith in Steve and this squad that we won't ever be in serious trouble this season. Even if by some miracle we end up in the relegation places at some stage, we're not going down with this squad and the teams that are below us.

I'd rather keep Steve and finish 16th again than finish f***ing 12th with someone like Lopetegui. Unless we're going for European places or getting relegated, where we finish is irrelevant. I just want to feel some sense of pride in my football club. Steve is one of the only reasons to, right now.
Absofuckinglutely. Well said.

Do we really need a forum meltdown in response to a couple of windup posters?

Our best approach is to get behind the manager and team as we did at Leicester last season when we lost 4-0. It took several managers and twenty three years to return to the PL.

No one can read the owners mind although we may have had some influence last autumn.

I agree with everything you say.
However you are missing the point.
It will not be the fans who want to change the manager. EM will not tolerate 16th

We have all been disappointed with recent performances and it is very clear that a lot of hard work needs to be done to address this urgently. Results and performances must improve immediately.
Oh I thought it might have been along the lines of "if we're 16th and 6 points above the bottom 3 in the PL next season after 10 games after playing Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal Man U & Man City then I'll consider SCs position"

I didn't realise it was something totally irrelevant

And they did.

But i think you missed out the backing for Cooper: "confirm that Steve Cooper remains our manager".

And the desire to "end the speculation and the false and disruptive reporting."

I'm unsure why this has sprung up and I'm sure by commenting I'm stoking the nonsense flames more so apologies but....

If we were to fire Cooper then the reality is that he would be in conversation for any vacancy in the prem that crops up possibly barring the current top 6 and maybe Chelsea/Man U and thats only because they are idiots.

That being the case let's not lose our minds about having an excellent manager already and kid ourselves that an elite manager would want the job and produce more than we have already, Cooper also has the ability to be that elite coach as well btw.

I'm seeing Emre quoted as an example of taking Villa to another level which seems more luck than judgement given that the same board appointed Gerrard. In any event it also ignores the £560m that Villa have spent on transfer fees and the 4 seasons worth of work that have happened as well as the 3 managerial changes. Villa have progressed quickly but they are in year 5 of their plan and have a net spend of £365m, we are in our 2nd year.

17th will do, 15th is progress, staying up is paramount and Cooper will achieve that.

The Steve Cooper (Forest Legend) Rolling Scorecard (the empty upper tier 23/24 edition)

Liverpool 3-0 Forest

An incredibly frustrating performance for all who saw it. Forest never really got going and the result was a fair reflection.

Any expectation of points was highly optimistic though, the only hollow positive being we’re not taking the thrashings we have previously.

A couple of loose bits at the back really cost us and the chances have to be getting finished off now. We got what we deserved in this one, but to progress we need to be moving towards regularly shithousing something from the big games. This one was probably too steep an ask, but no win in 6 now isn’t great and requires improvement, even into a more challenging run of games.

SC cards a bogey to fall back to +1 on the Rolling Scorecard.

Trend (last 6): D, l, D, d, D, l.

If Coops were to be dumped, to make any sense of it we would need someone like de Zerbi or the bloke at Villa, not one of the eternal floaters who hang around hoping for a gig here and there to swell their bank balance before the inevitable sack.

I'm not sure if EM is up to that, so I hope he has good advisors, otherwise we would be in the tom tit.

What do people think of Thomas Frank at Brentford? He is doing wonders at a small club frankly (No pun intended) even beating the big boys occasionally and not just at home.

Done wonders there constantly for a good few seasons no chance he would leave them for us if that's what you mean.
as for him he honestly makes me feel sick with his aggressive chewing constantly A face you would love to punch lol but yes he's proven as a good manager and actually the perfect example of why we should trust and build with the manager we already have

The main reason this conversation pops up again (besides a few bad results), is we seem to have a lot of those budding young reporter types swarming around the club, the ones who did a weeks work experience at the Evening Post a few years ago, and are suddenly an insider authority on all things Forest, they post things like “thoughts on Cooper?” Or “I wouldn’t get rid, but……”, and just stoke the fire, and build negativity amongst the social media mob.

I think he's a colossal twat

If you're seriously suggesting that we replace SC with him then you need to punch yourself in the nob
