One less gobshite...
I'm old enough to remember when ex-players getting involved in the officiating side of things wasn't a cliche but a necessary step to solving the injustices of the game.
If they're using the panel to decide if decisions are right or not the statistic is deeply flawed anyway.
The example is the foul on Reyna where the panel only looked at whether the foul was sufficient to bring Reyna down and not the actual effect of the foul itself, impeding Reyna from controlling the ball.
And the handball for that matter where it is not mentioned in the panels findings that Young moves his arm towards the ball.
Clearly implying that the average fan's opinion is worthless....unless of course it accords with theirs.Yes but fans can say what they want amongst themselves
‘Pub talk’ is JC and Neville called it.
This I quite like go on big marinakis
Interesting"
The news arrives as Sky Sports took the decision to remove an article from their website on Friday night in which Gary Neville appeared to backtrack on comments calling for former referee Mark Clattenburg to resign from his role at the City Ground following the controversial statement.
Sources close to Sky Sports insist the decision to withdraw the piece was purely an editorial decision and not related to any ongoing legal matter."
The tweet in question is here:
At the top, GNev says, "Clattenburg MUST resign"
Below, GNev says "We never call for people to resign on Sky"
So he's a bare-faced liar.
Rinse him, Big Ev.
I'm glad Gary's cleared that up. Prick."

Its a different threshold for Arsenal and Man City. Sky have arranged it with the PGMOL, during one of their cosy meetings.Looking at match of the day, some of these nailed on pennos that ”have to be given” are a damn site softer than the one on reyna. Crazy that it can’t be seen.

The ref & VAR were too busy looking for a reason to disallow the goal that they missed the obvious pull back on the Bournemouth player.Just seen the arsenal penalty, how's is that more nailed on then when awoniyi was taken out by the keeper, havertz literally dragged his back foot untill contact with the keeper and went down. Apparently from what commentators said they deserved it because they had 16 shots on goal to Bournemouth 0, If that's not clear bias I don't get what is.
The Bournemouth disallowed goal aswell how are they not questioning the degree of contact? Apparently the degree of contact was non existent for that, barely touched him.
Makes me wonder how much people in power would sit up and listen if all the Twitterati who are raging against such injustice just stopped subscribing to Sky Sports next season?"

Can't remember who it was now but when talk sport first started they had one commentator on there, that if he was losing the argument would always come out with, "you don't know, I'm an ex professional, I've played the game to a higher standard than you".Clearly implying that the average fan's opinion is worthless....unless of course it accords with theirs.
Blimey he'd fit right in here then. Can't remember who it was now but when talk sport first started they had one commentator on there, that if he was losing the argument would always come out with, "you don't know, I'm an ex professional, I've played the game to a higher standard than you".

Going to spend the rest of the day wracking my brain trying to think who it was.Blimey he'd fit right in here then.
Didn't Clattenberg cite targeting by pundits in his resignation statement?"

When I watch the Teamtalk show, Charlie McParland can often appear dismissive of any local club fan on the show, or indeed of the host himself - "listen, I've been involved in professional football for over forty years" is something he frequently reminds everyone of; or, in other words, 'my opinion is of far more value than yours'.Can't remember who it was now but when talk sport first started they had one commentator on there, that if he was losing the argument would always come out with, "you don't know, I'm an ex professional, I've played the game to a higher standard than you".
