It is, €18m should do the trick.

Although that said, the VfB are still hopeful of persuading him to stay, and to compete in the Champions League next season - something he won’t get at Wet Sham.

PL wages will be a tough one to compete with
Unless of course you’ve just qualified for the Champions League and thus have a wholly unexpired big pile of steaming cash to play with…

Neither VfB, nor their fans!, expected CL qualification this past season, and as such, the additional money that will bring, on top of last seasons‘ €41m injection of cash from Porsche, has swelled the coffers significantly.

So much so, the club are quietly confident of being able to broker a deal to sign on-loan 18-goal striker Deniz Undav permanently from Brighton & Hove Albion, with wages not being an issue. They’ve also made it known that they’re prepared to offer Guirassy a new deal to (he is of course still under contract).

Safe to say you got your moneys worth at €40k a week, stick him on €100k and tell him to not waste his time with the PL (unless he wants to come to us)

Seems like €5m a year + a big sign on bonus. Nice contract for him and he didn't even have to sell his soul to the PL

Arsenal and Chelsea in battle for Guirassy

Arsenal and Chelsea are in a four-club race with AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund for Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy, according to BILD.
The report suggests Guirassy could be available for just £15m this summer despite scoring 28 goals in 28 Bundesliga games this season.

The Guinean has informed the club he will definitely leave this summer; although he’s under contract until 2026, the exit cause is apparently set at €18m.

The Arsenal, Chelsea, Milan and Dortmund are amongst his suitors.

Think he will go to Dortmund as Stuttgart are after Dortmund striker Fullkrug
No, they necessarily aren’t.

There is a very tenuous link from SKY DE that the VfB had asked about Füllkrug but that is mainly based on the assumption Guirassy will go to Dortmund (which is by no means a given).

Füllkrug only joined Dortmund last summer from Werder, and has a contract for another two seasons, and he’s also on a significantly higher salary than Stuttgart would want to offer (which is one reason Guirassy wants to move, for more money).

The top striker target for the VfB is Brighton & Hove Albion‘s Deniz Undav, who was on loan at Stuttgart last season. Talks have progressed with Albion although there was a dispute about a sell-on, the German international is very keen to return to Stuttgart, something he has made very clear.

And I would add, at the moment, even with potential Champions League money next season, the likelihood of the VfB buying two expensive strikers for a total of €40m odd is very unlikely, given the financial position of the club.

One of the two, maybe, but Undav is still the favourite.

If they don't get Undav, would they like a different Dennis?

No thanks. Gil Dias ended up here - and scored on his debut - but was soon found out and sent packing.

I would caution you that this story is from Bild, which for those who don’t know, is sort of Germany‘s equivalent to the Daily Mail, and it’s only gutter-tabloid, who have a major reputation for making stuff up and exaggerating things.
