Saudi Arabian Sportswashing Shenanigans

An intriguing side-effect of the Saudi sportwashing plan, as hinted at in one of the papers yesterday, is that it could in time lead to the abolition of FFP, which is potentially stopping Premier League clubs from competing for some top players.

They’re not taking top prem level players though. Just hoovering around the edges.

They are however taking the top players from other, less moneyed leagues.

As someone who hates FFP with a passion, I've changed my mind about Saudi Arabia if it leads to it being scrapped; fill your boots lads!

How long before UEFA allow or invite the Saudi league into the champions league?

Last night Saudi football appeared on free to view ( what used to be called terrestrial) tv.

Obviously I took the moral high ground and watched the Spezia and Venezia cup game in an empty Cosenza stadium.

But it is a bit concerning that they’re making the product easy to access. I’ve already started seeing kids in that blue and yellow Ronaldo top.

In fairness though Hux, the Saudi government has made the PL easier to access by illegally pirating the signals around the globe.

I watched the Joshua fight on Saturday night and DAZN were advertising their coverage of the Saudi league. Then again DAZN and boxing do have history of taking the Saudi millions.

Neymar off to Saudi now.

I never realized he was so old though, he's approaching 32. I thought he was about 25.

It doesn't matter who the Saudi league buys, it will still be the Saudi league so a smattering of mercenaries taking on bin men and farmers.
