Not convinced on the source there, but christ - this would be an exciting signing, I’ve watched a fair bit of him this last year. He’s one of the most talented young strikers in Europe and just can’t stop scoring.

One of those 9s that can do a bit of everything. He’s a powerful forward, not small at 6’0 but it’s his leap that makes him a real threat in the air. Would say he’s particularly effective at holding defenders off & spinning them in the box. He’s also able to run the channels, but it’s the penalty area where he comes alive with his movement and knack for being in the right place at the right time.

This would likely require us to break our transfer record again, as I’d anticipate his going rate to be around £40m. However, I’d be shocked if there wasn’t fierce competition for his signing. Get it done, Forest!

His old man was a real wonder kid on one of the Championship Managers, maybe 2000/2001?

Santiago has had a great season but it was in the Dutch league so difficult to gauge. Anthony, Vincent Janssen, Memphis Depay and Bergwijn are all forwards who came from that league with a big fanfare but flopped.

So my morning read of scout reports suggest he's a fox in the box type with very good movement and timing. As such he creates lots of space for those behind him. He isn't blessed with pace but has good acceleration. Seems like a Wood type, possibly with better link up/feet, which isn't a bad idea. Not yet the finished article.

Spurs have tracked him long term - wonder if their apparent move for Solanke has opened the door for us?

Yeah thats the same as i see fox in the box with very good acceleration very good with both feet and strong and has that nack of being in the right place at the right time, Also i have seen that Real Madrid had been tracking him as well

So from what I've seen & read.....not prolific at international level. Scoring record isn't great in Mexico (but he was young) & Chuba Akpom scores for fun in the Dutch league.

I haven't seen him play but it's a huge gamble at £40m plus.

From reading it appears most/all the big guns are tracking, so feel it would be a case of the gamble being are we able to get in there now (ahead of them based on his fairly limited sample in the Dutch league) in the hope his attributes transfer and make a killing if they do. They've transferred to the Europa and champions leagues which is a good sign.

You have to back our scouts if we can land it - competition will be huge though. I'd be surprised...
