I was delighted to be watching him score his first Premier League goal.
He deserves every bit of success he gets... he has to work hard at it, harder than a lot of players, and it is a tribute to Yayesey that whatever the challenge, he puts everything in to achieve the goal.
I doubt the lads would have stormed to vicctory yesterday without Ryan driving them on.
He deserves a new 5-year contract to keep him here where he belongs.

First Team Squad
Definitely worthy of a game every week.

He was great today and we struggled when he went off, but not sure about this. Some games call for a man like Yatesy in midfield, some require a different tactical approach. Getting this wrong has contributed to some of the poor results we’ve had in recent times.

Every match week squad IMO at PL level.

Ryan was very good in half one today. Nice hit off the post too. Nice to see him overcome my negative comments about him :).

Given his love for the club he should be a part of the squad next year, for certain.

Every team needs a proper midfield destroyer as an option.

Would he definitely play every week? Maybe not. But if he didn’t, he’s a brilliant option to have from the bench as well.

Loves the club, and everyone loves him, and you’ll not find a harder working player in the squad.

Though Yates was excellent against Chelsea personally. never had an issue with his defensive work, although the constant falling over for cheap free kicks has never done anything for our momentum. He does seem to be evolving going forward though, we're picking passes now & looking more dangerous in the box.

Do we want to "risk" him as the defensive midfield talisman for another season, Im easy either way, but we need a more sustainable plan for that area given how much we've switched about this season, and given how much space we concede there.
