Have Forest paid tribute? I see his other clubs mentioning his passing and passing on respects, can't see anything from ourselves.

I have to confess, and trying to say this as politely as possible, I had assumed he had died previously.
This was because I read about him having a very serious stroke years ago - and having looked up when that was, it was 1995.
When i say serious stroke - it took away his speech and ability to walk and forced him to retire from his post-football job aged just 51 (yes kids, footballers haven't always been blessed with ridiculous sums of money and many used to have to find alternative careers to support themselves in their post-playing days) working for Ford motorworks.
He was clearly made of stern stuff then, as he made it to 79!

For what it’s worth, his speech recovered a fair bit and he was a regular in the pubs and football club where I grew up. Sadly I never realised he played for us until yesterday when a friend sent me message about his passing, and I only knew him as a former Swan. Gutted I never got the chance to speak to him about Forest as based on his other stories I’m sure it would’ve been interesting

RIP Ronnie

Ronnie's career happened to coincide with a very exciting period of my life when football watching took a back seat, so I never really appreciated his time in the game and particularly that with Forest.

Nevertheless it's always sad to hear of the passing of a stawart of the game who played for our club.
