Question about new season tickets

Do people think the club will sell any more memberships?

If not, there will be no new fans at Forest games next season. Some would probably approve of that but not a good approach in the long run.
I don't have a season card or a membership, but didn't have any problems getting a ticket for every home game last season.
There were always plenty (a few thousand?) left when they went on general sale.

Would they sell enough memberships to cover a capacity stadium ? Well, then you'd know pretty much whether you'd be going on not going for the entire season.

Please note that the Home membership package will feature new levels of ticket priority.

I wonder what this means ....

Give the away fans their 3000 seats then remove all the rest of the seats in LB and cram it with as many standing fans as we legally can

Seen people suggesting we should be looking at 40-50k capacity.

Let's not forget we were getting 23-25k THIS SEASON until we started edging towards the playoffs.

Yes, there is a new generation of fans so I do think the average could grow to 30k+ but 40-50? No chance. It's understandable people would want to make the effort to travel for a game at Wembley but for Brentford on a Saturday or Fulham on a Tuesday night? No chance.

And should we go back down and football/results drop back off I would bet attendances will be back down in the mid 20s again.

I think you're right.

Maybe an extra 5000 max regular fans in the prem and a few hundred day trippers ?

There were 35000 (?) tickets for Wembley and after sales to ST holders, members and fans that had been to three or more games there were still some remaining. I took a look at the queue when the tickets went on sale to fans who had been to 1 or 2 games in the season and there were about 11,000 in the queue, so that's quite a lot that are not turning up regularly !

If you build it, they will come.
Yep. We could have easily sold a shitload more season tickets this summer had we had the capacity to do so. And that's before we count on the non-season ticket match goers.

I think 42-45k would be a good capacity to aim for, long term.

I agree.
As soon as we take an dip in form and/or the novelty of the Premier League wears off interest and attendances will drop off-I can see no point in having a 45,000 capacity stadium if we are consistently
struggling in the top flight or worse still get relegated(a mid-table clash with Preston on a cold Wednesday
night might only attract 18,000-20,000).
However,a new Main Stand is a priority to increase the capacity to 35,000-the original plan to house
38,000 looks about right to me at this stage and then review the situation depending on our fortunes.
Let’s not forget the cost of living crisis might affect demand also.

I agree, the past season was a bit of an anomaly due to the circumstances. It's much easier to attract fans when you're 1) winning and 2) playing exciting/entertaining football

The novelty factor will carry us through next season with sell outs regardless of results, but the season after that will start giving us a better idea of where we stand. My personal opinion is that something around ~40k is in our best interests, anything over 45k seems way too excessive and could come back to bite us. Nothing worse than trying to create an atmosphere in a big stadium that's scattered with empty seats

The last few games of the season were only available to fans who had attended x amount of games. Which suggests to me that it will be very difficult for anyone who hasn't previously been to a Forest game to get a ticket to a premier League fixture at least. Cup matches might be easier.

I'm wondering if they would sell memberships AND require points history. Which could possibly make buying a new membership pointless.

Be interesting to see if those fans who are so angry/upset that they won't or will unlikely be able to get tickets to League games, are willing to pay the £10-15 it will cost to watch Forest Vs say a Rotherham in the league cup second round... I mean they only want to watch us play so the opposition should be irrelevant...

Well, I would.

Constrained as I am because I live overseas, when I make an infrequent visit to the U.K., I always have an eye on the Forest fixtures.

I mean, for f***’s sake in the past I’ve rearranged entire project workshops to tally with Forest fixtures (home and away) just so I could fiddle the schedule around when Forest were playing. Just don’t tell my employer.

For me, as an exile, the opposition doesn’t matter, it’s just the opportunity to get down to the World Famous City Ground again.

Where did I say I was angry or upset? I've never been to City ground but would probably go this season if I could get a ticket. Equally it wouldn't bother me in the slightest if I couldn't get one.

In reality Forest didn't have 32k die hard fans attending every week. So I'm interested in how they manage the tickets that previously went to general sale. They could, if they wanted to, ensure that no one who hadn't already been to a Forest game could get a ticket this season.

The point I was making is that this is not necessarily a good strategy. Even though it would please certain "I was there first" types.

Oh there are many fans who will/would and I have no doubt you are one (you spend so much spare time on here)

I'm more curious about the ones who all of a sudden, having never bothered to try to get tickets or attend games for the last few years and are desperate to go now will go to the "smaller games" in the cup, or is it just the pull of seeing Ronaldo...

My comment wasn't having a go at you, it was the fact you mentioned cup games being an easier way to see us (which is very true), which piqued my interest into my comment.

This isn't as bad as it could have been 300+ seats available in lower Brigford and A block. Just over 600 people to be rehomed.

I’m hoping that the LB can be shoe-horned into the A Block and the UB corner / PT stand close to the corner so that groups can stay together and we can retain strong singing areas giving the away supporters grief from both ends.

Forest have the opportunity to grow their fans base. If they are planning to expand it doesn't make sense to create a closed shop. Not sure how you open up tickets to new fans and at the same time dictate which games they can and can't go to. A lot will depend on how they release new memberships. The new season will obviously be very different to last season. It might be easy enough to pick up tickets to Bournemouth, Fulham, midweek league games etc, especially if they start the season the same way they did the last! Hopefully they wont though.

Currently it's going to be very hard to do that. Not much we can do about that right now.

I agree Di. Away fans won’t know what’s hit them if UB corner and A Block are back on top form together.
As sad as it is the atmosphere at most Prem grounds is a bit stale.

Not just the corner , the whole of the UB made noise last year

BC lower toward the away fans was getting pretty vocal too , and the upper

The only silent part was the TE , barely heard da peep out of them.

It’s a special place Tiff the CG when it gets going, having fans singing to either side and above you is quite something when you visit a ground.
We need to capitalise on our natural advantages next season.
I remember reading Stoke was a tough place to visit in the Prem because the home fans were vociferous 😂
A rocking CG is a different beast to the Britannia Stadium and we know it. Reading the away fans comments from the Cup run this year says it all.

From Forza Garibaldi.

We have this evening been in touch with Forest re the plans to relocate a number of fans out of Lower Bridgford for the new season. We understand this will impact 900 supporters.

The decision, while understandable due to Premier League rules, will clearly leave many concerned…

We have asked Forest to advise on the following:
1. The possibility of keeping as many supporters in LB as possible.
2. Potential areas to move en masse (T Block in Lower Clough was raised)
3. How fans can be relocated with minimal fuss and, wherever possible, in existing groups.

We will update if a response is received but Forest, to their credit, have already acknowledged receipt.

Website says 648 fans in y1 to be moved, must be the whole block then lower and top?,my lads in there with his mates and they’re all not happy, says the club will have to mess about with the concourse underneath too regarding toilets, catering and access to y2 block…a real shame after all the efforts to make lower bridgford what it has become.

Indicates one of the problems of an old stadium.

To be hoped that, alongside the rebuild of the main stand that cosmetic changes will be made all over the ground which will include sorting the away fans.

After all, once you get the builders in, you might as well get the pain over all at once.
