From a fan experience perspective having a winter World Cup was strange and to be honest not as good when you can't go into beer gardens or whack the BBQ out for England games etc. But there's no doubt that the quality actually on the pitch was at a higher level than they tend to be in summer tournaments. Games were faster, the big players were able to influence games more and the overall quality of the spectacle was better.
I wouldn't be against more tournaments being at this time of year.
