$1bn isn't enough to buy Forest anyway.

Chelsea cost £4.5bn and Man Utd prospected to cost about the same. Bournemouth were £120m.

Forest probably be somewhere in the £300m-£500m mark I reckon (how things change) and that would represent half of anyone worth $1bn, which is likely to be more than anyone of that wealth would have in liquid assets.

Perhaps a leveraged buyout would be possible but servicing debt at the moment isn't particularly cheap and Forest don't exactly have the security of PL revenue and millions of fans across the planet like the bigger clubs do that essentially makes them cash cows. Forest could quite conceivably be relegated at any point over the next few years - we won't be an established PL club for a while yet - which further pushes risk profile in the wrong direction and limits any would be investors.

Anyone buying Forest needs £3bn+.

Or they can just wait until Harry Arter's off the wage bill.

Although this is obviously a joke and just a real life Ted Lasso plot.

Even if a serious bidder for Forest came in I'd prefer we stick with what we have with the Greeks. Better the devil you know.
