There we have it, after 15 weeks without a manager we have a new head coach, Mr Phillippe Montanier.

Finally we have someone in place, exciting times ahead!
Let's get 'em.

NottinghamForest.co.uk said:
Nottingham Forest have confirmed the appointment of Philippe Montanier as the club’s head coach.
The former Rennes and Real Sociedad manager arrives at The City Ground on a two-year deal following a playing career which saw him make over 300 appearances for clubs including Toulouse, Nantes and Saint-Etienne.

After ending his career as a goalkeeper, the Frenchman took charge of Boulogne in 2004 and, during his final season, secured promotion to Ligue 1 for the first time in the club’s history.

A brief spell in charge of Valenciennes followed before Montanier was appointed as head coach at Spanish side Real Sociedad in 2011. He exceeded all expectations in the 2012-13 season as he guided the club to a fourth-place finish in La Liga and subsequent qualification for the Champions League.

At the expiration of his contract with Sociedad, Montanier took over the reigns at French club Rennes. During his three-year spell with the Ligue 1 side, Montanier steered them to the Coupe de France final in 2014.

Pretty good track record you have to say. I think it says a lot about a manager that he stays in jobs for a long time and has only been sacked once. I think we have done pretty well here. I look forward to it!

I think I'm most impressed by what he did at Boulogne. They would have spent no money doing what they did at a club like that. That is down to coaching ability.

Worked with some of Europe's top talents like Griezmann, Vela, Ntep and Dembele with supposedly contrasting results but this guy has the ability to make clubs play above themselves in the top flights he has been at. Again must have some coaching ability.

To get a coach of that calibre is quite the coup.

Somebody who's managed Real Sociedad only 3 or 4 years ago to a 4th placed finish in La Liga.

Let's do this.

Theres been more inspirational names chucked about to have really got the juices flowing. That said, this fella has a decent record & has the look of someone not to be f**ked about with.

best of luck to him, he has a nucleus of a very decent football playing side here, could well be the man to get a tune out it.

Good pedigree, snappy dresser and a different approach.

Can only be a good thing.

A promising head coach, some management structure above him, Cohen and Assombalonga fit, coming out of embargo and fresh investment coming into the club. Is it safe to feel slightly optimistic?
