Some are claiming that since the sale won’t go through until after the loan ends on June 30th we wouldn’t be able to put that £15m in this year’s accounts anyway. After which time we probably won’t need to sell him at all. Because the rules are ridiculous.

Odd- he's had 11 minutes since a 3-0 loss. Wonder what cracked off in that game?

Wouldn't be unhappy to see him back - we could have done with him at times.
11 minutes in the league since March 3rd and has only started 3 league games since going there, being subbed off each time before 75 minutes.

Seems to be going awful… highly doubt they’ll take up any option if it is not mandatory.

It seems from the line ups that Nemanja Matic (who is 35 and they also signed in January) is getting in ahead of him at the moment. So maybe Mangala is the long term plan? Dunno.

His lack of Twitter activity and recent "back doing what I love" post suggests he's had some injury or illness issues. He normally always posts win, lose or draw.

Olympique Lyon have agreed both Orel Mangala and Saïd Benrahma deals on club side.
Mangala will join on permanent deal, Benrahma on €5m loan fee plus €12m buy clause.
↪️
There are details to be clarified on personal terms with Mangala + player’s camp side with Benrahma.

I'm pretty certain that it can be included in the previous years accounts if there is proof of an agreement in writing prior to that and the transaction is then completed.

Clear evidence that Orel knows we aren't getting any points back from our appeal and is deserting the sinking ship

I don't think you can do that anymore, I could be wrong though. For me It made sense to do it the way we have as the 15m gets put on next years accounts as we've already got about 65m sales on this year's.

In a “normal” business accounting rules would not allow the £15m to be taken unless the £15m was unconditional, i.e. sale contact was signed and sealed on or before the year end date the accounts were made up to.
If the sale contract was not signed at the accounts date then at that date there is no sale, and to recognise the £15m would constitute false accounting”.
Of course football clubs are not “real businesses”, and EPL accounts for FFP are not real accounts, just a set of numbers created in accordance with a set of arbitrary and unclear rules that are interpreted differently for clubs to enable the big 6 to do what they want, and to create conditions for corruption.

The best description of PSR yet.

The fact it bears no relationship to real world accounting tells you all you need to know.

Our problem with PSR all along was we thought you were supposed to tell the truth rather than being creative.

We need the £15m (plus about £10m more probably) on this year’s accounts to pass FFP for the three years including this one (<£83m losses).

We won’t necessarily need it next year if we stay up because our loss limits would go up by another £22m, and next year would be replacing the championship season where we made a book loss of £40m, meaning we could lose at least £50/60m without getting in trouble. Because the rules are f***ing stupid.

Yeah it can be if it's a mandatory purchase agreement (without any triggers).

We failed psr this year thought my 35ish million,we get an extra 22m in the pot for being in the league 2 years, we upped ticket prices allot and had membership fees that's likely around 3m minimum increase, plus 47m Johnno, 5m Scarpa, 10m, Mangala plus others (cont remember who though) so that's an extra 87m more than last season. We spent about 100m so over 5 years thats 20m losses for the period. I makes it we would be 67 million better off this season.

I’m just basing it on the FFP/PSR judgement document from February or whenever it was that stated we are projected to make a £12-15m loss this season and then lists the Mangala option to buy at £15m, among others. So my assumption is we should approximately break even if the Mangala deal goes through and is permitted to be included in this year’s accounts. So if so we’d have a loss of £40m+£52m+£0m=£92m against a limit of £83m. Meaning a breach of £9m.

Unfortunately, I think you're forgetting that any mentions of "Robin Hood," "Miracle Men," "Two Stars," or "Brian Clough" also constitutes an automatic breach.

Why would he be though, hardly makes sense to tell the world you need to raise x amount of money to balance the books does it? Perhaps that's why no other club in the world does it?

The club could raise £Ms if they wanted - the information is already out there in large.

My point being he is a tawt going by his leadership and communication at the club in such a short time.

Since he joined us, he mostly played in a more advanced position, ahead of Matić. He picked up an injury against Lens at the beginning of March, and made it in the starting XI just once since then, in the Cup SF. But he got injured again in this game

Meanwhile, Tolisso retingrated the starting XI, and the results are excellent. But I have no real doubt that Mangala is a long term option for the club. He seems happy to be here and well appreciated by his teammates.
