Opposition fan's comments: Forest v Arsenal

HBB

Jack Burkitt
HBB says: Back in the saddle tonight with prematch and port game comments. Despite covering 3 of their forums it was quite quiet. The usual prematch confidence from the Gooners, given they are the saviours of, and epitome of pure footballing glory. They really got on their team's case in the first half but were creaming themselves at the first goal - after that they were back at their arrogant best but acknowledges it was squeaky bum time by the end after our goal. No real venom aimed out us or our performance but their familiarity with Turner confirmed their very low opinion of him.

We’re gonna slap these fools.

Forest 0-3 Arsenal

We should win this game without too much fuss I think. 0-2

3-1 Forest win

Ah we have excellent form at the City Ground. Can't see this being a problem.

All us, Forest very poor so far, we’re doing our usual passing thing.

Such negative tactics by Forest….

Forest are ****ing pathetic, defending with 10 at home. Even Luton attacked. I hope they go down with Everton and Sheff Utd.

Shot by Forest. They haven’t done much but that attack was more exciting than anything we have mustered.

Lol despite Forest being complete cowards how are they still level

Pure domination, Forest don’t even want to win. Just need someone to take a risk.

Forest with their prehistoric Jurassic Park tactics. Hope they get relegated.

Just know Forest will get a sweaty goal on the break.

(0-1) Turner shocker, lucky us, through his legs.

Definite massive weakness in their team. Many of their fans have wanted a refund haha.

(0-2) Nicely taken, a bit better now a bit of breathing space.

Elanga coming on, no change in their plans but Turner ruined it. Forest will need to make a desperate move there, can go down if they don't improve on him.

Forest still not even trying to play football. Nuno's trying to bring it back to the 00s.

Not been very good today, needed a couple Forest errors to help us on our way in the end.

Awoniyi 1-2 goal out of nothing!!!

Stupid. f***ing stupid. Let's give this crowd something to scream about, yeah, great.

Raya saving us

Horrible first half, better 2nd half, Forest architects of their own downfall with mistakes though, not a very good performance.

Nuno had the right idea clearly, but he also has Turner. Only reason they lost pretty much.

Great win, shame about a terribly soft goal as Forest did absolutely nothing all game.

3pts at a place we’ve lost at the last three times we’ve played there, so I’m happy.

Thought that was a well won match tbf. Kept patient against a team that didn’t seem to have any intention other than to defend with their lives, and got the goals we needed to put it away.

Completely nullified Forest tonight. Even their best moment came from our defensive mistakes.

Awoniyi is a beast as well, impressed.

Thank agent turner for the massive contribution to that win. Terrible keeping to get beaten by Jesus on the near post; Jesus had no alternative but to hit it there. The goal opened the game up and we then got the second. Huge contribution.

That was a reasonably good away performance. Forest are solid in defence under pressure but we kept going till we scored.

Again love the "Champions of Europe you will never sing that" chant, from fans who have probably never seen Forest win any trophies with their own eyes...top stuff 👊

Big fan of them putting the "Championship playoff winners, 2022" up on their stadium honours boards, state of it 🤣

First half was tricky to break Forrest down. They defended well. But we missed penetration in the box that we did had in the second half. With a bit of luck by Mattie Turner.

What’s wrong with having championship playoff winners 2022 on display?

It's f***ing tinpot.

Would you want Johnson's Paint Trophy winners if we won that back in the L1 days?

Nah save Billy big bollox claims for PL, European trophies, FA cup and league cup. Celebrating anything else is daft.

I was thinking the same when I saw it... Didn't realise we had put that up, is it new?

I still maintain that on a game like this we should walk out of the tunnel carrying both European Cups and feign surprise "..what? How did THESE get out here?!", place them in front of the away fans and then send a couple of the mascots to pick 'em up and take them inside again..

BECAUSE WE CAN.

It is tinpot having playoff winners on the stadium tbh.
However mocking us chanting about European triumph because not many singing it saw it happen, when not ONE arsenal fan EVER has seen it happen sums up their shite fan base.

The expected arrogance and entitlement there but can’t disagree with most of the comments.

Always found lifelong Arsenal fans to be decent supporters but the online presence of a certain section of their fanbase is hilarious.

I know that Nuno that I know that Nuno that I know
We should have sung “Championship Play-Off Winners, you’ll never sing that!”

My sister lived near the Arsenal ground for a bit 20 years ago. On nights out I’d often chat football with some of the older crowd who didn’t really go much anymore but went 80’s / 90’s and they are a massively different beast to the modern Arsenal fan.

Err, were Arsenal not nullified until their best moments came from our defensive mistakes?

Probably not. Their move which ended up hitting the post tore us apart, and there was one in the first half that Jesus put just over the bar which should have perhaps gone in as well.

The actual goals they scored weren't their doing. Through the legs of the keeper from an impossible angle and then gifted a 4 on 2 break on the halfway line.

Definitely mate, the old school were humble with good football knowledge, a pleasure to chat to.
This modern lot regard any club below the top 7 as dogshit on their shoe yet the funny thing is Arsenal have been anything but dominant in recent times. What have they actually won in the last five years, a couple of secondary Cups?

We lost.
However, for all their gazillions worth of talent, they din't actually dominate us.
Their lack of any ability to change style is there biggest weakness.
Ours is the lack of a goalkeeper worthy of the name.
Thanks HBB.

I've probably mentioned before that I worked on a big construction job in London for a few months 25-years-or-so-ago, staying in digs close to the Holloway Road (around the corner from where the Emirates now stands to be more exact). Whilst often frequenting a few of the pubs and bars in the area, we would meet regulars who were Gooners; on the whole, they were pretty sound, with nothing like the arrogance and entitlement that this internet generation has developed. It applies to a section of most clubs' support I expect.

Agreed, try n walk it in the net all the time. That's why Liverscum dunnum the other day.

Top teams have to have more options.

Nice on the eye but not strong enuf all round.

Thanks, HBB.

I know some lovely Arsenal fans, but it's fair to say that most top clubs have their fair share of insufferable internet pr***s and not a few "lesser" clubs too. Having friends who support both Arsenal and Tottenham can be difficult but, secretly, I prefer the Arse 'cos, let's face it, they've actually been good and wear our cast-offs ;)

Super Koopa
The usual drivel from the out of touch world of plastic football.

Remember when Arsenal were exciting to watch? Now they play boring, robotic, tippy, tappy football and try to walk it in. Even players like Saka have had any shred of individuality or flair drilled out of them by the Pep wannabe.

And yet, no league trophy and no Champions League.

The closest they'll get is that Liverpool song they were singing.
