Ive never understood this mentality myself, like staying makes you a better supporter or something?
If Forest are getting tonked, Im leaving early. Its too hurtful to me to sit and watch a team I love getting battered, so I choose not to put myself through it. 1-0 down and showing intent to get back in the game is one thing, losing 3-0 and rolling over is another. I refuse to put myself through it these days, seeing opposition fans taking the piss, no thanks, Im missing that traffic thank you very much! 85 minutes is long enough
We have to agree to differ.
Where have I said, or implied that I’m a better supporter for staying?
I have never left a game early and never will - I’ve attended in excess of 2,000 live games in my lifetime. I never turn my back on the team whatever the circumstance. On Sunday after the final whistle every Forest player at Anfield came to applaud the dwindling number of Forest supporters. Abuse from home fans doesn’t affect me - my support is unconditional.
On Sunday I left home at 7.00am and arrived home at 9.00pm - what difference would arriving home a few minutes earlier really make.
The away departures started well before 85 minutes.
There are plenty of supporters who would give their all to get an away ticket.
There is a greater likelihood of late goals in football than any other time.
Ask those who two years ago made a long trip to Bristol City in driving rain and stayed for the full game and were rewarded with two very late goals which super charged our move up the league table.
