Thought we closed our the game well personally.

The ten mins or so before we went to the back 5 we were turning the ball over too easily and too often in attacking areas and leaving ourselves vulnerable to an end-to-end type finish which when you're winning the game isn't likely to be the ideal scenario.

So whilst it wasn't pretty deciding to effectively end the game there and then seemed sensible enough. 15 mins played and they had a single tepid shot on goal.

We've shown were good at closing games out so don't get the concern there. Also expect to see it many other times before season is done.

Not vintage, but Ipswich are a better side than Southampton and Leicester IMO (despite what the league table currently suggests) and they've shown over the last couple of games that they can make life difficult for you. 3 points is very much welcome no matter how it comes.

6th place going into December, I think we'd all have taken that at the start of the season.

The Dog & Duck are a better side than Southampton.

Got home about an hour ago, man alive it took ages to get out of the city. A reminder of how difficult it is to make games living up North..

We did enough. Second Hal;f was almost all us. I thought the substitutions were needed when they came on, but there was a definite change in the direction of the match when they did come on; not in our favour.

Deserved 3 points mind you.

Just finished watching the match on delay … that was a nervy last twenty minutes. Loved Anna’s game and Jota brought much needed energy … and the pen.

3 Points ! UREDS !!!

Was at work so missed the game

I'm soooo fricking happy with this result
We have bounced back from 2 defeats

Just watched the Sky highlights - Woods penalty was perfect

He's just equalled Bryan Roy as our all time top Premiership goal scorer
We are lucky to have him and have in the form of his life

We finish anywhere above 10th this has been a fantastic season for us IMHO

I think we will

November and December was always going to be difficult for us and for most teams in this league if they had the same teams to play
We get to the Liverpool game in January and we are still in the top 8 positions I will be overjoyed
Others may may think differently
I wont

To be fair to the ginger one, he's been complimentary of us as a club, noting that he likes us. I have the same sentiments towards them, I hope they stay up over Leicester, saints and whoever else.

People may bemoan getting defensive but if we could've done that under cooper and held more leads, he'd have never been let go.

Three points and on to the 'glamour' fixtures against the mancs. Next time forest are at the City Ground, so will I be.

Back from the game and just zipped through the last 8 pages. Really surprised that Ipswich are getting any credit. Lower Bridgford were really peed off first half with the constant time wasting from minute one, petty fouls etc. Apart from a little possession they offered nothing the whole game until we invited them on for the last 15 minutes. Got exactly what they deserved, nothing.

I always freak out a little bit watching NUNO as he is 100% the twin of my Dads Dad even down to the same skin colour

It's weird

Been on the lash all day and haven’t seen anything re the game other than the stats and comments on here but the 2 observations I can draw are:

1. We weren’t totally at the races going forward.

2. Given point 1, and having nudged into the lead, going 3 at the back was the obvious choice. It’s served us well this season and we essentially ended the game.

Some need to realise going to 3 at the back this season is a completely different proposition for the opposition than it has been for the last 2 seasons. The team are drilled beyond belief.

Now, to find a beer before MOTD 🍻

I’m fine with going 5 at the back but my god, what were the midfield doing? We were leaving gaps everywhere. I looked over at nuno and he was clearly annoyed, he couldn’t get Sosa on fast enough!
Three at the back doesn’t have to necessarily be defensive but it clearly sent a message to the players on the field that the priority now was to protect what we had rather than get a second goal. As a result the players (probably subconsciously) dropped 10 yards back.

Even against the bottom teams in this league you need an outlet. Eventually they'll find a way and all it could take is a slice of luck with the ball pinballing around the area. Luckily it didn't happen today.

We didn’t today but we have consistently looked more of a threat when we have gone 3 at the back & Jota / Sosa come on

Totally - it wasn't today but previously it's looked more like an attacking change than a defensive one due to our counter.

In other news can't wait till Dani's got - we could have done with him coming on today. Sangare too though in a different role. Thought the midfield lost their way a little.

A crucial 3 points to extend the cushion from the relegation zone.
We still look good defensively but lack the ‘X factor’ going forward and need to address this sooner rather than later.
Citeh up next.
