Choose your poison:
1) Feeling like an irrelevant with shit football in the championship, even if it's more honest.
2) Watching better football but media, VAR circus and mostly losing in the Prem.
Can we continue to exist at championship level without vast capital injections from the owner every season?

Will they actually get a training session between yesterday and the 26th? Today, presumably?

I'll tell you what really annoyed me about the refereeing howler against Bournemouth.

In the middle of it all Iroala got a yellow card for appealing that Boly should be booked. Players and managers appeal for stuff all the time, that's normal behaviour. Why is it OK to appeal for a free-kick but not a yellow card? Stupid rule. Pgmol could have fixed the handball rule, or the offside rule, but instead they are wasting time introducing rules like that.

right-negatives, goalkeeper...we're f**ked without a decent goalkeeper-sorry both are not prem quality, we've had plenty of time to reach this conclusion and i'm 100% certain the new boss will not put up with that-its basic.

That said, we had more about us against high ftying Bournemouth, MGW, Yates, Elanga, Murillo-yes and Woods... we may well have just enough to avoid defeat.

People talking about being in the Championship from speaking to Leeds and Leicester mates - despite them both doing well - the feedback I have
is very much its just not the same once you have been in the Premier League winning games in the Championship simply is not the same. They just cannot wait to get back to the Premier League.

I think its a defence mechanism we use as fans to cope with relegation in the event it happens.

Newcastle away - one of the hardest away games in the league - we need the type of luck Bournemouth had yesterday oh and defenders who mark men and not space would help.

Play this team:
-----------Hennessey---------------------
Williams Niakhate Felipe Murillo Toffolo
-------Mangala------- Yates-------------
-----------------MGW--------------------
--------Origi-----------Wood------------

This assumes Forest can't appeal the 2nd yellow and therefore Boly misses 1 game.
I'd keep Elanga and Hudson-Odoi on the bench to come on when Newcastle have tired out and got a man red carded.
Origi has to be given another start - I felt so angry about the Boly issue for Boly, but more so for Origi, because he has not had a proper go here under Cooper, but Nuno wants to give him a good run to see if he can be the striker we need.
We'll lose at St James's Park...

Turner
Aina Felipe Niakhate Murillo
Elanga Yates MGW CHO
Origi Wood

All out attack, might as well have some fun.
On a serious note MGW ran the show vs Bournemouth playing box to box, I’d seriously be tempted to play him there again. It allowed him to get on the ball and influence play.

Any team with Turner and Niakhate in the spine is doomed.

I actually think Turner was okay yesterday. I don’t think he could have done anything about the goals and what he did do, he did alright.
Still think our priority should be a Keeper in January but feel he is a bit of a scapegoat for yesterday.
Turner was poor: his kicking was abysmal again, his shot stopping was accpetable, but he failed to save 2 longish range headers.
As for Niakhate, he has the worst key performance stats of any Premier League centre-back, and he stood and watched that hat-trick goal.
Either his confidence is shot to ribbons, or he is just not good enough.
He has to be dropped in my honest opinion.

I'd love to see a 4-2-3-1

Wood
Elanga - MGW - Dominguez
Yates and Sangare or Mangala
Toff - Murillo - Boly - Neco

If no Boly (f u EPL) then Felipe or gasp Worrall

At some point I'd be very intrigued with Sangare and Murillo as the two holding midfielders with MGW ahead of them. And I really want to see Omobamidele at some point - is he hurt or something?

Hopefully we’re bringing the Jonjo Shelvey trophy back to Nottingham on Tuesday evening.
As long as we're not bringing Jonjo Shelvey back to Nottingham.

Personally I would like to see

Turner
William-Niakhate-Murillo-Tof
Mangala-Danilo
MGW
Elanga-Wood-CHO

But only if Niakhate actually marked the opposition otherwise would have to play felipe.
I think MGW massively improved since the spurs game
Very hard playing NUFC away but hopefully NES will have sorted out the defence by then (unlikely given how little time he has had)
