If I were the person doing the music today I wouldn't play Depeche Mode when we win. Time to retire that song. Keep it as a happy memory of the Steve Cooper era.

I think we will see Montiel, Wood and Sangare in the XI

Likely 5 at the back.

I just hope we see a bit more of a plan and purpose when we have possession. If we see players showing for the ball that's the main improvement we need.

A few have said Montiel, not sure why. Not saying he shouldnt start its just a name that keeps cropping up.

Certainly be interesting to see who he picks.

He's got a strong pedigree and with a clean slate just feels like someone we would probably want to see before we decide whether to continue the loan in January.

It would be harsh on Neco, though.

I’ve kept well away from most of the threads on here as I was still grieving. It was still too raw.

Got all of that Cooper sadness out my system now. Time to move on. Time for all us fans to get behind our new manager.

COME ON YOU MIGHTY REDS!!!!!

I’m wondering about McKenna as well. But Montiel would also be an interesting call.

We’re too soft, or have been, That’s about to change.

Has McKenna returned to first team training? I’ve seen pictures of Joe, but not Scott.

I’d also throw the suggestion out about Murillo ? Without doubt been a revelation this season. But he’s very raw isn’t he. There are some clear defensive frailties, but he’s been a highlight compared to others.

but…does Nuno continue to take the bad/raw with the good. Or does he go for experience initially?

I'm my head the agreements with the loan players will have already been sorted, though I guess a change in manager might mean that can be re-evaluated if next moves aren't already arranged...

As I've said before I expect the loans to be let go, regardless of quality, due to the managers preference of working with a smaller squad. Expect McKenna to be sorted to go too so dont expect a way back for him.

I'm more expecting a return of Sangare (unless his groin injury was real) and Dominguez, and wonder if he will set up around Wood up top or use Morgan as the falsey.

Probably most sensible to box that midfield and keep tighter/compact - imagine Nuno will have started with defensive shape first so I'm guessing it will be Wood, with two of MGW, Dominguez or Danilo playing off him, but no place for wingers with Elanga used later on.

It will be very interesting to see that lineup...

Could see a potential for him moving to LWB for a while?

Get a solid three in the middle and let Murillo loose on the left side? Given our lack of real quality there.

The box is most likely, I agree. And it's when we have looked our best, I'd argue.

Sangare, Dominguez, Danillo and MGW behind Wood would be my guess. With wing backs given real licence to break.

Good point.

I think Murilo is the sort of player you let make the odd mistake and build a back line around. He's young, raw and brilliant. Let him learn on the job I say, he has a very very bright future and nulifying him at this point would not be my call personally.

Yep I think that is a potential option, I can see Nuno looking for a new LWB solution.

I think Murillo has all the attributes to make a cracking marauding LWB. Maybe it's because he reminds me of Roberto Carlos but I just think he'd be good there.

In a similar way I reckon Danilo would make a great RWB too. He has a bit more to learn positionally but the raw ingredients are there IMO.

Would be a big call. Either way, I would assume defensive stability is the priority, whatever he does.
