A win is obviously way better, but a very tall order imo given the massively in-form opponent and the fact Nuno will have had 3 training sessions to pick a team from a squad of pushing 30. A draw in those circumstances is commendable, and gives everyone a little boost going into his first full week. United at home is a winnable (or certainly drawable) game if the overriding feeling isn't already doom and gloom, which it might be after two defeats - hence being happy with a draw v Bournemouth.

Nuno is Marinakis' man though. Don't forget, Steve was underachieving, so we'll now find our true level under a manager who won't.

I’m having absolutely no excuses around the size of the squad or any challenges around personal.

We’ve invested £300m in this squad and it’s better than last season. There’s no reason we shouldn’t be beating Bournemouth at home, just as we needed to be beating Luton, Burnley, Everton etc.

We need to win, and also show the reintegrating of this summers new players, whilst not alienating the core group who performed well in the last two games.

If we only get 1 (or worse still 0) point up to the New Year then we are right in the midst of a serious dogfight.
I know just the man to help!

Thanks for replying.

Whether it’s Nuno or someone else they’re either incredibly brave, confident, full of positivity and self assured of their managerial ability or they’re desperate, ignorant, arrogant and a bit of a masochist. 🤣
A friend of mine was a sado-masochist.
He thought his wife looked good in stripes.
So he stopped whipping her.

I did play GK, and while at Uni I did get some decent coaching (my Uni was UAU Champions and Runners up several times).
Personally, I am at a total loss as to which of our 3 keepers should get the nod.
By the way, shelvey isn't one of the 3 keepers in the 25, has litle experience, and is set to go on loan to develop him.
As things stand, even if he was in the 25, I would be reluctant to chuck him in at the deep end.
Bloody hell, of course! Shelvey not in the squad:(
COVID busy eating my 66 year old brain.
Not even a chance of raising a glass to Steve yet.
Wot about a Turner or Greek poll? I love this forum, with posters' deep insight and passion for Forest and our fair City - everybody has a pertinent view - but I don't get the Odysseus love. If the Odysseus of yore had been forever rooted to his line, we would never have had umpteen school hours devoted to his exploits.
If the present chap wants to become a modern day legend, he could start by coming off his line and claiming the ball at a corner or three.
Is it only on TV that Turner looks the better bet? ( Didn't see the kick...heard the resigned dismay in Colin Fray's voice as the ball left Turners' boot)

I haven't seen a lot of Odysseus love, since he's played. I did see many posters clamoring for him to play after Turner started making mistakes, most of which I assume came from a place of 'he can't be any worse' - but old Count Vlachula certainly hasn't gained any love with his performances.

It will be interesting which of the 3 donkeys he decides to give the shirt to.
I am usually quite dogmatic, nay, bigoted in my opinions, but in the case of the inept goalies at Nuno's disposal, I simply have to just do a Gallic shrug of the shoulders, and say que?

Can we have rolling subs for the keepers? Play Turner but have Vlach standing by the post ready to step in for goal kicks and any potential back passes.

Originally thought we'd lose this but I'm switching now after the events of the week.

I think there will be a positive reaction from the players and the so-called 'new manager bounce' will take effect.

2-1 Forest

Dominguez and Gibbs-White for us
Probably Moore for them.

If Palace hold on tonight it really is starting to shape up to be that bottom 4 fighting for one survival spot.

A couple of unexpected wins would really go a long way now to getting that gap a bit more comfortable.
