As a journo would you prefer he said we will be champions in May? Oh the press make me weepWith my journo hat on - that was a bloody awful interview - but he comes across as an intelligent chap. Doing all the right things, clean slate for players etc but I think he must be thinking this is a great job to take - even a smallish increase in our fortunes will keep us away from the drop zone given the quality that's below us and as its halfway through the season as long as it doesn't implode totally its a safe berth with an owner who you'd think will back his manager. Fingers crossed ...
Is this one a f××king right back as well?
Caption competition time.

I agree Ash. Reading Wolves fans lamenting that he's come here is quite reassuring.
We're going to win the Champions League with Pep, Danny Fox & Ben Brererton Diaz. How AI sees our future...
I plan to, thanks. You should post more often.
I think it's going to be a long while before we turn out someone who can impact this level (or be afforded the bedding time to do so).Anyone else slightly concerned about Nuno’s apparent disinterest in the youth setup and academy whilst at Wolves, relying solely on Mendes to supply the players?
Be a shame if that pipeline is switched off at Forest.

I don't think it makes too much difference anyway as the quality clearly isn't there to come through at the moment.Anyone else slightly concerned about Nuno’s apparent disinterest in the youth setup and academy whilst at Wolves, relying solely on Mendes to supply the players?

Suspect, given he likes a smaller squad, he'll look at all the unused loans as an easy way to work with less players. I think regardless of ability all the loans are done.I think he’s gonna revive Tavares and Santos careers here. Toff will probably start on Saturday but Nuno does like to play with wingbacks and we definitely have an attacking ones in Tavares and Neco. And as for Santos, he can play (apparently) anywhere in the midfield and I hope Nuno uses that to his advantage.
would like to see Aina and Montiel involved again, Aina was a standout player right before the Fulham game really and Montiel can be useful.
Why the f*** do we have so many fullbacks/wingbacks.

I think Santos will be a big player one day - it was just pointless given his experience and our signing of the apparent first choice option.I dont necessarily disagree per se but I can see him keeping Montiel as wingback cover unless Sevilla want him to start then I’d f*** him off.
Since Santos doesn’t have a buy clause in his loan deal it would probably be better to send him back anyway. I’m just extremely curious on his ability because it was so hyped by South American talking heads on twitter as well as Chelsea fans.

As posted elsewhere, we're not short of midfielders. If Santos starts playing then what do we do with at least 2 of Dominguez, Sangare, Danilo and Yates? We can't keep that many non-starting senior players happy - that was clearly one of the biggest issues Cooper had. Unless we try to recoup some money for one of the first 3, or sell Yates for pure profit FFP reasons (blasphemy!), then I think we should send Santos back.
If we could get decent money in for one of the senior midfielders, and redress the squad balance - i.e. put it all towards a striker - I'd be OK with it.I wonder if Nuno could use Danilo more forward like how he was under cooper at the tail end of last season where we was crucial to us staying up.
I get what you’re saying and I think the addition of Santos is general wasn’t a good idea, regardless of the potential the lad has. But that’s hindsight and Nuno does mention he wants everyone to pull their weight.

If we are going to use Wood then getting a central line closer to him would help, provided we are also banging crosses in from the wing backs.I wonder if Nuno could use Danilo more forward like how he was under cooper at the tail end of last season where we was crucial to us staying up.

I think it's that he was the insurance option for Dominguez and/or Sangare.Yeah, this goes back to the recent athletic podcast about us where it seems as tho multiple parties within club hierarchy were bringing in players without a cohesive approach.

Elanga to be used as impact sub after 60 minutes, and also instructed to warm up for those 60 minutes staying in line with the last opposition defender. If we are going to use Wood then getting a central line closer to him would help, provided we are also banging crosses in from the wing backs.
I can see us going this way more so than my false nine suggestions: Wood up top, wingbacks and a midfield box in a 3 4 2 1. Keep the midfield compact but have the legs from MGW and Dani to support. Means no place for Elanga though.
Lolled at the last bit but he is an excellent impact sub so yes, that's probably how you set up if you want to keep compact but retain threat.Elanga to be used as impact sub after 60 minutes, and also instructed to warm up for those 60 minutes staying in line with the last opposition defender.

Plus a bit of getting players through the door just in case other deals don’t work out. It’s not sustainable though. Surely Nuno will have raised this with Marinakis before accepting the job? Right?!Yeah, this goes back to the recent athletic podcast about us where it seems as tho multiple parties within club hierarchy were bringing in players without a cohesive approach.
