• All - you probably don't need to be told, but....
Despite the Admins' best efforts some spammers/scammers/scalpers are getting through the entry system and are, astonishingly, in possession of FA Cup tickets that they, astonishingly, don't want!

It's probably a scam, and either way it's a criminal offence under section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, (as amended by the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006) to offer or expose tickets for sale.

Please DO NOT engage with these people - please REPORT any threads/posts offering tickets for sale in case we've not caught them.
    Thanks!

Joint 8th most MOTM for Nuno with 7 since records began.
Considering how little time he has managed in the PL compared to everyone else & who he has managed, he is in great company

He also won 3 during his year in Spain & another 3 during his time in Saudi when he won the league against Ronaldo's team.

Wonder what flavour Pringles are inside that.

He looks more and more like Jean Reno in Leon: The Professional every time I see him?

Therefore, that tube probably contains a grenade and a 9mm automatic, and Nuno is going to absolutely f*** shit up with them.

I can't believe I saw a video on youtube of Cundy on Talksport having to justify to a Liverpool fan why Nuno is a more worthy Manager of the Season than Slot.

There's absolutely no debate to be had.

Are the glasses a new feature this season or have I just not noticed in the past?

I'm in two minds about the result on Saturday, I hope Nuno can overcome the curse that is said to accompany the award.

He wears them quite a lot but they are normally around his neck when he is in press conferences etc.

That's an incredible record considering length of time and quality of sides managed.

Only 4 behind who some would argue the greatest manager of all time who's had twice as long in the PL and hundreds of millions of pounds more talent to call upon.

Another indication of the pathological concentration on football in the modern era which just seems to forget any football before the 1990s.

Recently seen lists telling me who were the greatest footballers in British history and I've seen all of them play! Crazy.

And that list of managers excludes so many fine managers because they don't have an easy way of being recognised, just use the list of MOTM in the Prem and that must mean they are the greatest of all time to the youngsters and pundits of today.

It's technically a different league though since in 92 the top division clubs broke away from the EFL and formed a new league. It's logical to look at records like appearances, goals, MoTM etc in the PL era.

I don't know how long manager of the month was being awarded before the PL era but arguably a "first division" equivalent of this list would be good, even though managers like Clough, Dalglish, Graham, Ferguson obviously managed in both.

If we're talking about a best ever manager though surely it's a bit of a moot point.

Ferguson was at United nearly 30 years, and after that no-one has really won anything there despite some top managers like Jose, LvG, Moyes being there). In that time he won 13 league titles, more than anyone else in the English league, 5 FA cups, 4 League Cups, 2 Champions Leagues etc etc.

Of the great managers in the top division, Clough won 2 CL and 4 LC with a smaller club, Liverpool won 4 CL (though not sure if they were under the same manager) and had several top managers like Shankly, Dalglish, Paisley, even later on Houllier won a cup treble, Benitez did well for them before Klopp. Chelsea and City were generally tat, Everton won titles under various managers, Graham built an Arsenal side who you couldn't score easily against, Dalglish won titles at Liverpool and Blackburn, as did Clough at Forest and Derby. But how many of them were as consistently successful as Ferguson over such a long period? Not too many.

The other thing to consider is a lot of the time teams improve to beat other teams who have improved. Look at the PL in like 2002ish when Abramovich bought Chelsea. Man Utd and Arsenal dominated then, Utd were a big setup but Arsenal less so, it was still mainly down to Wenger and Ferguson how well these did. Chelsea could spend to build a team and attract Jose and it meant their challengers needed to do likewise. Then City ended up with money and Newcastle. PL squads are much stronger now and cost a lot more than in previous years as is seen with how many sides come up and go down again. And even to do well in European competition the same applies.

It's like in tennis, we had Henman 4 in the world for a bit, he was a good player but probably wouldn't make top 20 now, nor would the previous #1s to the big four probably do a lot against them (Hewitt could scrap from the back like Murray and Djokovic but they are much better at it, Roddick was just a serve bot, for example) - Federer improved because Nadal being around meant he had to and later Murray and Djokovic, and they all needed to be better players because of the others around them. No male player born in the 90s has, nor is likely, to win a slam. We still have Wawrinka playing on tour even though he's nowhere near the level he was at the age of 40 when the likes of Sampras, Agassi and even Henman didn't do much after 30.

From memory I think Sir Brian Clough won Manager of the Month something like 24 times, which would place him high up any list since whenever the award was first given.

"Nottingham Forest Are Premier League"
The Nuno Espirito Santo Rolling Scorecard 24/25 edition

Aston Villa 2-1 Forest

A disappointing result for the lads as a poor start undermined their day. Despite some lack of familiarity with certain roles and missing a few regulars, it's fair to say that we switched off defensively and paid the price. It's a reminder that a game cannot be won in the first 15 minutes, but it can definitely be lost.

Despite conceding the two quick goals, Forest dug in well and were perhaps unlucky not to get on the scoresheet before the break as they looked dangerous going forward.

After the break, Forest were by far the better team, controlling the game and outplaying the hosts. The lads created plenty of good opportunities, but sadly didn't have their shooting boots on and will feel unlucky not to have taken something from this one.

Nuno cards a bogey to fall back to -18 on The Rolling Scorecard.
