Playing the way we do under Nuno then it's imperative he's in the team to break the lines otherwise we just end up playing neat football on the halfway line.

So, so important to us. He links the midfield to the attack, he drops between the lines into the pockets, he can hold onto it, find a man, wriggle free and has that magic to produce something from nothing. He's the player that was on fire last season.

Another situation where it could be said his value is £70M but his actual value to us is so much more.

Highlights the need for a Reyna type player that can fill that role if needed as without him we have no cutting edge at all

Reading some early morning FB posts that MGW has broken his ankle? I'm assuming these are twoddle until Rocka draw's a picture of said injury , how did he take a penalty with a broken ? Fingers crossed anyway

The club would need to confirm a break via an x-Ray or MRI scan. Even with our ‘private’ resources, there wouldn’t have been any way to obtain an x-Ray or scan between the end of the game and now.
Rumours? More like guesswork or made-up twaddle.

Looking at the bench I'm not sure we had any other option, and we do now apparently have competition for his position. (And if Origi wasn't fit I'd have started him up front last night fwiw)

Fingers crossed he's fine - hopefully it was just his body doing something weird; best case scenario is cramp or muscle spasm with no lasting damage.

We don't get much luck on the injury front mind...

Convincing win over the Geordies with a Reyna master class should cheer us all up 💪🏻

He generally seems to be a fit lad, in that he doesn't get to many injuries, when he does he shakes them off quickly. He's also got a great engine, so I'm not worried about fatigue for Saturday. OK so there's adrenalin, but listening on the radio, he seemed to finish the game OK.

Just need to get something from Saturday and then for me the season really starts against West Ham with a full squad back together and some free weeks on the training ground.

Best hope is that we don't need to use Reyna in that role... be surprised but at least we'll get a good look in his 'best position' if so.

Exactly this. It’s a bit of worry that he’ll be fully fit for Saturday, but unless he slipped on the soap in the changing rooms after the match there’s zero chance he has a broken ankle.

No way he would have stayed on with a bad injury. He had a chance near the end too. Scored his penalty well.

He'll be starting against the Geordies.
