We're shit without him. So has to be £100mil. We'd have beat Brentford with him in the team and it's obvious we have no understudy for him and £60mil won't change that, especially as the Greeks would spend that on 20 shite players.
While I don't disagree I also don't see a side paying that for him - not an international, untested in Europe, doesn't score enough.

At some point he's going to want to move on, so I suppose it will come down to what he does between now and then. I can see a 'big' club going for him - Spurs, Newcastle , United maybe?

We sell MGW this month, we're down (maybe even without the incoming points deduction). So financially only £100m would make sense, as recompense for not getting the Prem money next year. I doubt anyone would be willing to pay that sort of money. Surely the sensible thing is to keep him, hope we stay up and then agree to sell if anyone meets our valuation (£60m-£70m) in the Summer. And if we go down, we'd still get £50m for him, which would go a long way in the Championship...imagine how many Xande Silvas and Gaetan Bongs we could get!

Honestly without a clause in his contract that we're not aware of, he's our golden goose. And add in Prem tax on to that he's a 100mil buy, especially in a January window where we're on the brink with no idea how many points we have/have not

MGW is a valuable player.
Valuable players in the PL will always be subject to these kind of stories.
We shouldn’t be surprised - goes with the territory.
Having said that - Spurs & now Newcastle. Smells of his agent testing the market ( in readiness for the Summer most likely ).

So I don't need to keep saying the same thing.

Would have to be a ridiculous fee.

He’s a special player, young, English and potential for a massive ceiling.

I’ve no doubt he’ll go for a big fee at some point but it’s got to be stupid money surely.

Got to be Grealish, Rice sort of money for me.
I don't know if it is public knowledge as to the profit share with Wolves should we sell MGW.
But I bet it is a singificant chunk.
So we have to get £100m to retain a profit tht makes any real difference to FFP.
But complying with FFP would be irrelevant if we did sell.
We'd be down for certain.

With less than 10 days to go till the window shuts, even if they were entertaining the idea of selling MGW and getting an upgrade, it will be next to impossible.

Doesn't make sense on any levels. He's the heartbeat and engine of the side, I would sell any of the players before him, Murillo, Danilo and Awoniyi included.

Has anyone seen MGW recently?

I know he’s supposed to be injured, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Nuno has had him kidnapped from Dubai and is currently holding him at a CIA black-site that doesn’t actually exist (honest!) to avoid him signing for anyone else.

No way we're selling MGW in January and even if we were, there's no way Newcastle would be buying him. For 23/24 they are in a far worse FFP position than we are, hence the rumours of Almiron, Trippier, Joelinton, Isak and Guimares all being available for the right price.

For me, this story comes about for one of two reason. Either lazy journalism, based on Forest's FFP challenge, or Newcastle thinking they can use our supposed FFP problems to get MGW on the cheap. Either way, I don't see any chance of him going in January and in the summer only if we get an offer we can't refuse.

I think one or two folk need to get their doctors to review their medication floating transfer rumours like this, If and when MGW moves on it will be for a fee that dwarfs the fee received for young Brennan, that’s just a fact.

Yep swap one of the brightest young English talents for a premier league has been in an area where we have more than enough cover.

Absolutely. After stressing that his lot probably need to sell a key asset before they can buy, the writer's implication that the mere prospect of Lascelles being part of a proposed part-swap would tempt us to let MGW go there for a presumably considerably reduced fee is laughable in the extreme, and especially as he accurately emphasises Morgan's importance to our immediate prospects.
