Not a sinlge mention of the penalty incident on MOTD.
They analysed the Man city incident (which was definitely a penalty... not for the hand ball, but for the shirt pull that preceded the handball, which VAR didn't notice), and the Newcastle incident (which was a deffo penalty, again for the shirt pull).
Infamy, infamy!

I'm just glad to see a performance that rendered the inevitable VAR issues irrelevant, as Forest were far better than the final score suggested.

Sadly, English football is now blighted with a VAR process which has been badly implemented and inconsistently applied by incompetents, drawing English football into the realms of disrepute.
... other than that, it has been a complete success

I had the pleasure of sitting next to a Forest fan from Brighton yesterday. A decent chap who travelled alone, had at least an 8 hour round trip and I’m glad he had a decent day out in the end. He’s a club member and it was his second visit of the season ( the other was Luton). Hats off to Steve if you’re reading this and all other Forest fans who go above and beyond to support our club.

But ours didn't impact the result, fortunately. Those in the other games did.

I like to slag off MotD too, but on this one I understand the lack of time given.

I agree to a point.
Where i think our's merited discussion was in the context of it being the 2nd game in succession, and the one against Newcastle did have a significant impact on the end result.

We absolutely battered them today and 2-0 was more than deserved.

The difference in our play compared to the Cooper days is astounding. We look like a genuine mid-table/top half PL side all of a sudden and we have players putting in great performances all over the park.

Playing further forward, retaining the ball, smart movement creating passing options. It's so refreshing to see.

And we still have Aina, Boly, Sangare and the best per 90 goalscorer in the PL to return.

Not a single chance we get relegated unless we have a significant points deduction.
I'm not having this bollocks any longer, probably a bit harsh to call you out as you're not anywhere near the worst, just this post is the proverbial straw so I apologise to a certain degree for that.
The difference in style between Nuno and Cooper is certainly there to see but completely disregards games like Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal and Villa at home, Chelsea away, games we had no right to win/draw but spirit and togetherness got us points we had no right to earn. Often last season we were done by fantastic players having fantastic games, Kane springs to mind for one. We have had absolute calamities between the sticks all season too.
Nuno is an ideal successor to Cooper but to denigrate the GREAT man's contribution to our club is disrespectful at best and cnutish in general.
It isn't Coops v Nuno, it's our progression in spite of those above our managers.
Enjoy what we've had over the last couple or 3 seasons and enjoy what we have to come, please for fukcs sake.

I argued that we were a mid table side a few months ago during our bad run but to be quite honest this side has the makings of a top six team.

Elanga and Taiwo are unplayable at times and in Felipe/Boly/Murillo/Omo we have the makings of a top six defensive partnership. Sina is absolute top quality and we also have great depth in the squad with the likes of Sangare, Williams, Danilo and Dominguez. If we stay up this season we should be pushing on and challenging the top six next year.

Not going to take it personally.

I largely agree. I f***ing love Steve Cooper. He can have a go on my wife whenever he wants, he's earned it.

I also don't want to be considered to be putting Nuno against Cooper because I agree, it's progression.

But I also think it's entirely fair to look at the differences between the two coaching styles and the steps we have taken in a short period. Even when we were doing well I was critical of such defensive tactics as whilst it can result in the odd win, it loses you many more games than it wins. We had to progress past that to avoid being in relegation trouble and to kick on more generally. Nuno has shown an immediate ability to do that an, for me at least, it is such a remarkable change in such a short period.

We have gone, in 2 months, from the fans blaming every player for being utter shit, and mercenary, and claiming we need a whole new side (or that we would be better with Spence, Zincs and Davis) to us all praising every last one of them for looking genuinely top drawer. And the thing that's changed to make that happen is the tactics. These players are being encouraged to put their best foot forward, giving each other passing outlets, aggressively pressing etc etc and it's paid absolute dividends..

Time will tell, unfortunately there seems to be much more to managing Forest than managing the on-field side of things. Nuno is far less likely to stand for any interference and I'm convinced that Cooper put the final nail in his coffin by taking a stand against those in the ivory tower.
Nuno has to be able to play the long game if he is going to have anything like the same impact on our progression as Coops has.

I know people wont agree but I did feel the Neco Williams penno was soft. He also went down a few seconds after contact. So to me I think he tried to buy it. No doubt there was contact but it didnt feel enough. However where people have a point is that we have had pennos given against us for less. So that being the case we should have had a penno but as a general point I dont like how soft pennos are being given.
Having seen it again I disagree, it just looks weird because of the order of things..

1. Whilst running his back foot is pinned
2. He now can't bring his leg up to continue running
3. Foot is freed, leg comes up putting him off balance
4. As this happens he is shoved in the back and goes down

I can understand the ref not seeing it like that in real-time but unforgivable that VAR didn't.

I think VAR DOES have a good role to play in the PL. However it should be done by permanent teams who are not refs and don't have relations with them. They should exel at examining video and making video cuts and only need to know the football rules they are allowed to review.

Right now it is an old boys network whereby they are afraid to turn over a decision because otherwise next week it may be done back to them. No idea how many of them are being paid or threatened by the top teams but their inconsistency is ironically consistent for the big teams.
