I saw an interview with Lords Cricket ground who said their floodlights cost them £1k per hour at full blast
presumably the latest LED technology

I'm guessing that Mansfield is still on Halogen.
Obviously until this season, so were Forest. Premier League requires LED so our floods had a massive upgrade in the summer.

Haha 😂

In my late teens we used to ‘rehearse’ in the spare room at my Grans house (two guitars, vocals and drum machine). It lasted about a month until my grandad saw the electric meter spinning like mad during one rehearsal.
We ended up hiring a room above a pub for a tenner after that.
My first band, one of the lads worked in a print works, and we used to convene there after working hours and borrow their electricity. As the place was empty by then (they only worked office hours) it was a no-brainer.

Ideal! One of my mates bands had a similar set up at a hosiery factory, I think they even left their gear there.

At the pub we had to walk through the bar area with our amps to get to the stairs that went up to the room. We would get all the usual comments from punters like “do you know any Chuck Berry, youth” and the rest of it 😂

Can you "borrow" electricity Christopher??

If so, send me a lorry load 😂
We did back then, but it was simpler times; the house I had at the time, it cost me a tenner a month each for gas and electric.

Halogen & fluorescent lighting is being phased out so they all have to change, I believe Halogen lighting won't be available from Sept 23

You can

a warm white LED looks pretty similar, and Is a fraction of the consumption.

I swapped all my warehouse strips for LEDs over the summer and my electricity bill had gone down y/y.

You know it makes sense folks, put LEDs in your home today.

f*** that, they are a pain in the arse for causing RF interference. Have you got any of those old gas lights tucked away in a dusty corner of the warehouse?

Switches/ sockets are next on my list of products to stock on the path to world domination. The titty bakerlite switches do exist, I just have to find the supplier.

I will have a look , got a tin bath you can put in front of your fire if you want. Don’t let the neighbours know , you’ll be hounded out for being too modern.

We used to rehearse in my mates attic. Never had any complaints about the electric. The racket (music) as the neighbors called it did put an end to it. My mate on drums did sound like he was nailing a shed together to be fair.

Hahaha… 🤣

We had a drummer like that years ago. He didn’t understand dynamics, he just hit everything as hard as he could. Many a gig ended up with a split cymbal or knackered snare skin.
