Sad news.
How many Miracle Men are still alive?
R.I.P. Larry.
If you bump into Sir Brian up there, I sure he will give you the circled finger & thumb "well done" salute.
Trevor Francis and now Larry are gone, the rest of them, I think, are still going strong?

I was on top of the world when we took you on loan from Coventry. :)
I was double on top of the world when we signed you permanently.:dancingb:
I was so happy when you helped us win our trophies and put NFFC on the map.🏆
YOU were part of Cloughie's BIONIC BUBBLE that never did burst. 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 (f*** off Bob Wison)
I was so honoured when you bought me a pint in the Stage Door on the night I went to see Showaddywaddy at the Concert Hall. 🍻
I was so proud of you when you spoke your mind on Darren Fletcher's Century 106 phone in. 😎
I was so sad when I bumped into you on the Costa Del Sol selling time shares. :(
Larry Lloyd I was your number one fan. (y)(y)(y)(y)(y)

Any shite upstairs, you know what to tell 'em.

Rest IN Peace BIG FELLA....
Love from Rockabilly and my dad (RIP)

Oh dear-another one of the immortals has left us.
I saw Larry make his debut at Hull (on loan from Coventry) in 1976 and was probably Peter Taylor’s
best early signing (along with Peter Withe) at Forest.
A few weeks later we went 1-2 down at home to Bristol Rovers-as Larry rolled his sleeves up
after we had conceded the second goal I felt terrified on the East Stand terrace (God knows what
the opposition felt).We won 4-2.
His partnership with Kenny Burns in the glory years was legendary.
R.I.P. Larry.

Oh dear no. One of my absolute favourites. We called our pets Kenny and Larry in honour of their partnership in defence.

Seeing him excitedly shout that he could finally see some people from the top of the open top bus on the way into town (because most of Nottingham was in the Market Square) on the I Believe In Miracles DVD, has always made me smile. I was in that square on my Dad’s shoulders.

That team made the 7,8,9 year old me think that winning things was normal. Thank you Larry. Rest well.

And of course we know who was making his debut for Hull and bloody scored on Larry's debut. Also we'll never forget his screamer v York. Great memories. I was talking to him in his pub on Hillsborough night and he was distraught having feet in both camps. Peter Osgood will be avoiding him should their paths cross

Try A Little Tenderness
A not-uncommon misconception is that Lloyd and Burns wouldn't be able to operate at the highest level in the modern game. It's obvious that their type of - to put it kindly - robust approach is now largely outlawed, but that notwithstanding, both could definitely play, and Lloyd, unusually for a man with his frame, could shift a bit once he got into his stride. Like Burns, he could also pick a pass, which was a hugely important component in Cloughie's possession-based brand of counter-attacking football. Add that to their absolute mastering of the unseen dark arts of defending, and both would be PL players today.

That partnership was a thing of beauty, skill and so much trickery in all sorts of ways it was something to behold.
My recollection for matches is not in your league Cloughie so at least twice I remember him flinging himself headlong across the six yard box and getting to his knees rubbing his head, while all of us who were in the right position saw that he had handled it….brilliant. Do you remember?
They always say when he joined he immediately added a sense of confidence to the team and as you say he was frightening.

My claim to fame with him involves that famous blazer row with BC. My Company at the time supplied the blazers!

R.I.P. and so many thanks for the memories Larry.
