I saw his last game for London Welsh in 1975 (I think) at the Middlesex Sevens at Twickenham before he joined Bridgend. He was part of the Wales team that was just wonderful to watch. They'd have won at least one World Cup. If I remember correctly Loughborough Colleges won the Middlesex Sevens that year

Another one who hasn't much time for rugby, but who remembers players like JPR and Phil Bennett and Gareth Edwards with pleasure.

For a large part of the 60s I shared a flat in Putney with a rugby-mad Welshman who later was pressed into service as my best man. We used to share sporting occasions, some weeks we'd go to football at Chelsea or Fulham, others we'd go to Rosslyn Park.
