It may be too early for Christmas decorations, but its never too early for January transfer planning.

Especially because Ross, George and Pedro are on the job already. Striker must be on the shopping list and maybe a No. 1 if someone comes available.

There's a couple of high-profile freebies out there but yeah I'd love Ramos for a season.

I recently downloaded a transfer update for FM24 so we have Morato, Ward-Prowse etc and brought in both Ben Yedder and Martial...the latter has been on fire with 7 goals in 10 games.

Not sure how realistic it is though as he wanted £180k a week when I approached his agent in August. Fast forward to Oct and he's not been picked up and settled for £26k a week 😅.

Ben Yedder wouldn't sign for less than 90k a week unfortunately.

I think it will depend on where we are in the league as the window opens and subsequently closes.

Liverpool, Brighton, Chelsea, Arsenal, City and Man U all away, would mean that if we are around the top 10, then a selling point could be a push for Europe (despite how unlikely that is). Most of those teams have Cup / European games either side of playing us, so a few surprises might happen.

Some striker options:

Jonathan David is being courted by Chelsea / Juventus, so we can scratch that one! However, it will create a chain of available players.

Denkey (Bruge) 23 - scored 28 goals last season. Out of contract in 2026.

Kroupi (Lorient) 18 - 5 goals and 3 assists in 1100 minutes of football. Lorient got relegated to Ligue 2. Out of contract in 2026.

It also depends on Awoniyi and Wood staying fit and producing…and how Silva steps in if not.

If they do well, then Kroupi would be fairly cheap and could go straight into the academy if he doesn’t adapt.

Denkey looks a great finisher, although only seen him on YouTube / not sure how many chances he needs!

We could also go back in for Marmoush, but that would depend on how well Frankfurt do in the Europa League.

Talking of agents, I see the Anel Ahmedhodzic has completely cut ties with his Dad recently and they don't even speak to each other. His Dad was accusing Anel's wife of casting a black magic spell on him and Anel has accused his Dad of manipulation and bullying.

I know who my money is on to believe. When his Dad was a forum member on here it was clear that he's batshit mental. A number of people on here even told him flat out, if that was the way he behaves then it would probably be better for his sons career if he backed away. It was obvious just from his posts that the guy was a lunatic.

January could be Elanga watch I’d guess.

I’m fairly confident we have enough alternative options to fill that attacking/wing type position though, either in the squad or as possible targets in January.

Maybe not January, but both a top class keeper and striker have got to be on the agenda.

I’m sure between now and January a specific position of need will become obvious as well.

I think he almost went to West Ham - not sure why it fell through. If we are in a really strong position in January it could be possible but it will be a long shot.

He is like Cole Palmer, as soon as he gets regular football people will realise how good he is. He averages a goal every 80 minutes since he arrived in the Prem in 2022. That's the same as Haaland!

He is the sort we will need if we are going to significantly upgrade our current strikers.

I agree we need that pedigree of striker to move forward, but Duran is off the table, he's going nowhere
