Ibrahim Sangaré of CÔTE D'IVOIRE

Yeah he did fine.

Needed to come off though as he was walking a red card tight rope.

Showed what he's capable of with the ball at his feet but he needs to be more effective off it. Anderson was like a man possessed in the middle doing all the graft

It's just not Sangare's game to charge about.

This is half the reason we haven't seen him, not because of a lack of quality, but because his qualities haven't suited our tactical set-up.

Sees a one touch pass better than most, very adept at keeping the ball moving forwards when needed.

He'll be very useful in European competition, unless we think we can sell and upgrade.

Thought Wharton was superb at that tonight. Really impressed.

This-he shows quality with ball, especially if given time and space-but most prem players do. But it’s off the ball and his defensive play I was focusing on. Seemed bit of a mixed bag and also wasn’t always the most deep lying player so exchanged with Anderson at times. I’d love him to excel, hopefully can play a part in next few games as they might suit more possession and time on ball.

Wharton is a terrific player.
He really is- can't see him staying at Palace for too much longer.

If you want an all action battling midfielder then Sangare probably isn't the player for you, but if you're after someone to get their foot on the ball and find the right pass then Sangare is great at it- we haven't seen anywhere near the best of him but I think Nuno rates him. I think there's a player in there and he could be the answer in those games like Everton where the opposition let us have the ball. I'm certainly not writing him off yet.

He looked great at Exeter I remember. Clearly flourishes in a side that have a lot of the ball (which for the most part isn't us).

Looked rusty at first understandably but I think he definitely grew into the game. There was a very clear drop off in terms of our control of the ball when both him and Murillo went off.

I think Leicester could be the ideal game for him as I expect us to have more of the ball.
