I'm not even sure what Lansbury's best position is but I am certain it isn't as part of a 2 man central midfield pairing. He simply doesn't move off the ball enough to help his teammates out (as opposed to a Osborn or Vaughan who are always moving towards players in possession to offer an easy pass).

Pushing him higher up the pitch is the only way I see him being more effective.

Lansbury playing in his best position in a confident side is an asset to this club. The shouting and screaming at Fawaz in the close season to keep him, to then scape goat him and want rid is crazy.

Is he becoming the new McGugan? McGugan didn't have a position that was easily identifiable within the team structure.
Lansbury doesn't look overly interested or happy at Forest. His head goes down too easy. As Stuart says, like many of the players he really doesn't show any balls. Too many players looking for an easy ride instead of showing character and actually wanting the ball in positions that can hurt the oposition. He's got 10 bookings in 19 games. The list goes on.

There is a decent player in there somewhere but I have only seen tiny glimpses so far this season. I think its all a mental thing going back 12 to 18 months. Not sure how you coax the old Lansbury into form. Having said that when you look at the amount of his Forest career where he has been productive it is only a fraction of the time he has been at Forest. Frankly I can take or leave him at the moment. At least when Osborn plays he has a bit of passion and will try and influence the game.

No, I wouldn't sell him. We have all seen how good Lansbury can be, and it would be mad to throw it away just because a run of bad form.

He's quite clearly your bog standard central midfielder. His best games are when most of the play is in front of him which he is dictating, rather than playing in the hole waiting for someone else to start the moves. It's not as if he's out of position he's just not playing well for unknown reasons.
