Harry Stefano Toffolo

He's decent. If he was Brazilian folk would be jizzing about him on here. Instead he's called Harry Toffolo and used to play for Huddersfield so folk reckon he isn't good enough 🤷‍♂️
If he had the technical skills of our Brazilians (past and present - I'm thinking Lodi here) he'd be good enough. That's the part of his game that I feel let's him down and as a result slows is down. He's improved in that regard too, but not to the point we need. (And I'm ignoring the defensive side of his game which while there are issues are just about passable.)

Nothing against the bloke, just my opinion and YMMV.

I think he has had limited game time to assess where his ceiling is. His background/previous clubs probably go against him but positives off the Top of my head- goal against wolves, assist for Dominique, assist for Aina, him totally nullifying Traoré and he had to swop wings. Coming on against villa and helping to stop chaos on their right wing. There must be more. Negative was Chelsea’s last match-totally caught out down his flank. Again mit be more negatives. Was lodi significantly better than him-not sure, perhaps a little?

Probably an unpopular view but personally thinkToffolo and Worrall's contract extensions were sentimental decisions. Giving Yates another 4 years is again due to similar reasons being the only academy player left in the squad. He will always be a squad player at best if the trajectory of the owner's ambition is going to be realised.

Even if the club outgrows them, extending their contracts means we can sell them for decent fees rather than letting them leave for nothing.

For me Toffolo is more than capable of being a squad player who gets the occasional start in the Premier League. I think we'd need a bit more dynamism across the course of a full season but he's fine to fill in.

I don't think 2 back up left backs is particularly sensible or sustainable for a club like ours, especially when Williams can play there if needed. So with that in mind I'd expect one of Richards or Toffolo to leave this summer.

I thought this was quite interesting, tells you how long each player takes before they make a pass & Toff is slowest.

I agree with @JonnoSnr, he is just about to the standard to be a squad player, I don't think it's because he's not a glamorous name that people are saying we can do better.

If anything because he's not - he has probably got a lot more support from the supporters. He always gets songs sung for him.

Struggling to get suiters for Worrall at the fee required though. Toffs might fetch 2m at a stretch but who knows. Have the championship clubs had any significant purchases from the Premier league so far, not looked.

Would have thought Dennis, Worrall, Toffs, Bowler etc could do a decent job at that level. Maybe PSR is screwing everyone over throughout the land.

I think being a decent bloke has helped him out with the fans - he can whip a decent ball in and puts in a shift too so there's that.

Interesting that the stats back up my take on him (bet it doesn't often!) - he both slows moves down and loses the ball often. I couldn't help compare him with Lodi who was technically very gifted and could ping a ball out quickly and accurately with ease. For me that's the required level for that aspect of anyone bought in.

Shame Tavares isn't on that graph - be interested to see where he was. High-ish tempo, medium accuracy is my guess.

I'd have said keeping Worrall is an option if we didn't sign another central defender but he's not seemed like he's a part of the team at all, I can't understand what has gone on there. If you went back a year, he'd be front and centre, Mr. Forest. Now, he gets the Hwang treatment.

We renewed Joe's contract to make sure we got a fee and no f***er wants to pay it. Deadline Day move all over.

I like Harry, he's a decent hand but if we're looking to move up the table, we need to be upgrading the team and bless him, I don't think he's at that level. I'd wanna see something of Omar more than Toff if I'm honest.

I love Ola but having watched him & CHO step on each others toes for the majority of the first hour, it was nice to see Toff make an overlap and get to the byline about 2 minutes after coming on.

I think Harry is an excellent squad player, and think he's been okay to good every time we've needed him. I would love a bit of stability this season, and even if we bring in a new first choice competitor for Aina I very much hope we keep him around. If Richards turns out to be better, then we can make a choice down the line. Would love to see a young big talent that doesn't need squad registration come in, so we can use Aina on the right as well, as I consider our depth at rb a bigger problem right now.

About as useful as xG when centre backs and centre mids can pass it between themselves with relative ease and full backs (all 3 in a similar area) often get closed down and have much narrower corridors to play it through.

Thought him and Anderson linked up really well when they came on.

Similar to Elanga, Toff was better under Cooper with 3 assists and a goal in just 11 games last season which is admirable for a LB.

A reliable if unspectacular player with a great attitude which is important. Richards has looked good however and Aina is superb. A tough decision.

Yeah I don't know what this graphic is trying to represent but the time taken to pass is naturally going to be different by player role and position.

Elanga is 'slower to pass it after receiving it' because he runs with the ball more than any other player. Wood is less accurate because half of that is related to balls fired at him which he's trying to lay off with a one touch pass and go. Every CB bar Murillo are almost identical to each other as they pass the ball around the back, whereas Murillo has license to carry it.

Toffolo is 'slow" because he's a wide player who have more time on the ball and he runs with it a lot on the overlap.

These are stats for stats sake, its useless data.

If nothing else it allows comparison with the other players in his position, hence why I would have liked to have seen Tavares in there.

Anyhow, on Toffs now it looks like Richards isn't part of the first team squad and Moirera is, I think regardless of who comes in at left back he'll stay and be our room to manoeuvre in the Jan window.

Love Harry. Probably his last season with us as he's just not getting the minutes. However he's such an excellent ambassador for the club.
I met him last year at the East Bridgford Garden Centre.
A very normal person.
He will do well back in the Championship when he is loaned out or sold.

When you go back 15/20 years, some of the wasters we had with bad attitudes and bad character. Now we have a squad absolutely full of top professionals, nice lads, wholesome lads who have more talent in their little toe than some of the Megson era chancers.

We have had two successive decent, humble men as managers.

Got to love it

Give him the job as Head of Media or something.

He’s a genuinely good human being. And there aren’t many of them about.
