Harry Stefano Toffolo

Toffolo, as with just about every other Forest outfield player bar Williams, took too long deliberating over what to do on Saturday. That sluggishness of thought compared to Newcastle really stood out for me all game. I'm hoping that time and familiarity among the squad will improve this and we see Forest players think and act more quickly on the field.

I'm sure it will. They will also realise they need to up their game when they go over the match with Cooper. Iron sharpens iron, so the old saying goes - most of these lads have the ability to react to things a little bit quicker and once the game plans are in their head they can rely more on instinct than thought. Then things will look a bit better.

Hope this chap turns it around, or more accurately hope he gets a chance, just seems like he's been given short shrift and written off before he has started, maybe still something niggling about nearly put a block on OBrien coming?

He was part of a team that played poorly last week, hopefully he gets the chance like everyone else to put it right (Seems likely because of Moreno being a knob).

Not sure why I'm posting, perhaps its the raft of new LB links this morning or it could be me randomly remembering how Des Lyttle was talked about pre playing Chelsea, specifically that he shouldn't be marking Zola and would get embarrassed, he ended up doing such a good job that I'm pretty sure Zola still checks for him under the bed every night before he goes to sleep!

I don't think week in week out Toffolo is going to cut it in the Premier League but to be fair to him he was brought in as cover. There's no way Cooper would've expected to be starting with him on opening day, that goes for others too.

If you were to teleport Toffolo into an established, well-oiled PL team now he'd probably look decent, without being spectacular. But put him in alongside a load of other strangers really, up against a tricky winger like Almiron in the cauldron atmosphere of SJP then there's little wonder he struggled.

I expect him to get better, as I expect the team to. But I feel his ceiling is much lower than most of the squad.

I agree and think we're being too harsh. Hardly anyone played well last week and it was the lads first game in the premier league after playing in every division on the way up as he went. Each time he's proven worthy and now is the ultimate test.

He had incredible attacking stats last season but needs the whole team up the field to really contribute in that manner. Saying that he won't get the same chances he did so needs to make sure his quality is there when he does.

Can't wait for him to win us a pen.

Too right we're being too harsh! Lad's played one competitive game where everyone, Henderson spared, looked like rabbits in the headlights. He might not set the world on fire. He'll be ok though, capable enough. Let's see how he plays when Niakhate and Worrall can find players in a red shirt, where McKenna doesn't get caught in possession and the midfield can gain a foothold in the match!

Although it does seem Coops wants another player in at LWB.

Let's give the little guy some support!!!

I’ve been very worried about him after seeing v Valencia and Newcastle but he massively stepped up. Defended well and was fantastic for the goal…we just need to see more of that as it was almost his only foray forward

I think people were overly harsh last week, but he had a great game today, made our goal and looked defensively solid against a decent winger.

If he plays like that all season I'd be happy with him as number 1 never mind backup

That goes for everybody, the PL is tough, you have to really earn every point

Yep, he certainly silenced his critics today. Put himself in the right place at the right time so often, it can't be luck. Kept going, too, without flagging too badly.
