What are the origins of the squirrel meme on here?
What are the origins of the squirrel meme on here?
My earliest association with the Beatles predates my own memories. I’m told that one day I suddenly belted out “We all live in a yellow submarine” at the top of my approximately three-year-old voice in the middle of the Co-op on Hucknall Road. A few years later my granny bought me the Corgi Toys yellow submarine, which (I hope!) I still have somewhere. The night I first met my wife Yellow Submarine was playing and a very early video playing on a TV screen along with it. Apart from my soon-to-be-wife that was the only thing I remember from that night. So Yellow Submarine has a special place, I actually don't like it! Though Mrs VP lasted 45 years.
Years ago there used to be two squirrels who posted on here (GreyStar77 and SeldomSeenRed IIRC) who got into a fight over who looked more squirrel-like, Nicky Eaden or Danny CullipWhat are the origins of the squirrel meme on here?
I've posted on here for 12 years now and still haven't a clue - it's a tradition as old as time.

Squirrels serve as a poignant proxy for the human inclination towards facile diversion. Their innate predisposition for erratic behavior, characterized by their capricious darting and scurrying, mirrors our own susceptibility to distraction. Observing their antics, one discerns a reflection of our own penchant for being easily diverted from the posts at hand. Their frenetic energy, manifested in their acrobatic leaps and sudden shifts in direction, embodies the fleeting nature of our focus, easily swayed by the allure of novelty. Thus, squirrels stand as emblematic symbols of our shared proclivity for diversionary posts.
The origins of Nottingham Forest Football Club are steeped in history, folklore, and a touch of whimsy, with squirrels playing an unexpected yet pivotal role. Legend has it that in the late 19th century, a group of Nottingham residents gathered in the city's Arboretum Park for a friendly game of football. As they played, they were observed by a curious band of squirrels, who darted among the trees and watched the proceedings with keen interest. Inspired by the energy and agility of these woodland creatures, the players adopted the squirrel as their unofficial mascot and symbol of their team spirit.Squirrels serve as a poignant proxy for the human inclination towards facile diversion. "The appeal was held last Wednesday but, unlike the independent commission which heard Forest’s initial case, there is no seven-day timeframe for it to be resolved."
I know its the BBC but if true we could still not know this time next week based on this!!!

I saw one, just the other day, it seems he lives at the end of my road:You never see red ones anymore though.....
A delay until as late as possible potentially assists the PL/Sky narrative to build and retain the tension in the relegation battle.Latest: Premier League news conferences coming up and Sancho shines for Dortmund

Back in the days when the online evening post was not just a bombardment of adverts, there used to be somebody who would continually post inane stories in the comments section, many of which made reference to squirrels. I think he got banned in the end but at the time, probably 18 or so years ago, it brought much more joy than reading about ForestYears ago there used to be two squirrels who posted on here (GreyStar77 and SeldomSeenRed IIRC) who got into a fight over who looked more squirrel-like, Nicky Eaden or Danny Cullip
There was mutual engagement which sadly escalated into a tussle, both of them were banned, and an LTLF meme was born
Other way round for me. We could end this weekend four points clear of Luton, five of Burnley, with two games to go.The longer it goes it makes me think more were getting something back
Opposite for me. The more it makes me think we haven’t and the club kicking off in the background is delaying the public announcement. The longer it goes it makes me think more were getting something back
Exactly the reason I think we could be getting some back if we wasn't its 2 points between 3 teams and tight could of announced that on MondayOther way round for me. We could end this weekend four points clear of Luton, five of Burnley, with two games to go.
The last thing the PL will want to do is resolve the relegation battle with their announcement. It'll be a terrible look.
