Financial Fair Play (FFP)

Minimum 6 plus 1pt for each 5mil isnt it?

This could get ugly if we needed that near 50mil from Brennan to balance the books and it got thrown out, thats near 10pts on top of the 6 by couch basic FFP calculations

No real surprise-there’s been too much smoke in the past week.
I hope Nick Randall has the courtesy to explain to the fans why he misled us on not breaking FFP.
To be honest-I’m falling out of love with football. If Forest are relegated over this then I think I will be seriously considering whether I want to waste any more money watching the professional game (and that’s from someone who has followed Forest through thick and thin for 57 years).
Yeah if we get done over this to the extent it kills our season, I’ll be soured on the game too.

One less gobshite...
I've not seen anything concrete re. a vote on changing FFP. The only one recently was the change to the 5 year limit on transfer fee amortisation.
I couldn't find anything concrete either.

But there are a few articles discussing it in advance of the EPL's AGM on June 14th 2023.

i’ve a feeling that our trading with Olympiacos will play a part in this.

i’ve a feeling that our trading with Olympiacos will play a part in this.

Why?

Unlike other clubs we've barely utilised the relationship, especially from a £ sales in transfers.

Edit: To put more context into this, in the 7 years since Marinakis had a stake in Forest, there's been 20 players that have played for both clubs, and the only players who you could argue we've financially benefitted from are:
Kapino (who we got for free and sold for c.£300k)
Scarpa (who we got for free, bombsquaded him, loaned him to Oly and then since sold for c.£4m)
Carvalho (Oly took over the amortisation of the £13m transfer - so about £5m or so)

Only Scarpa falls in this FFP accounting period and his time at Oly wasn't particularly fruitful so won't have impacted the value of the sale at all.

If us and Everton get a similar points deduction (ie. if Everton get a second) it would probably just mean we'd need to finish ahead of Sheff Utd, Burnley and Everton and not worry about Luton. Might help.

Trying to find some positives...

You suggesting 16 points deduction may be a possibility?

Let's wait for the actual detail here.

We have been referred. I'm sure we will mount a defence.

We have no idea to what extent we are believed to be in breach, no idea the circumstances.

I will say, if it looks likely we will get a points deduction I would sooner just take the hit as early as possible and go into full on 'f*** the league', us and them mode.

Its blooming hard and depressing this Premier League lark sometimes, so many lows, and so few highs trying just to stay above water.

I see Marinakis' bid to win his popularity contest against Steve Cooper is going swimmingly (y)
