Good news - it’s not given Everton a complete reprieve and it puts them on similar points to us. Gives me a little bit of confidence that we won’t get any more than 6 points off and Everton will have another deduction of at least 6 for the second breach.

Yeah 6 will be our maximum then I reckon based on that, not worried in the slightest as we will stay up with 6 points taken.

I think this is an overall positive for us. Means our punishment should be a maximum of 6 points, which I have full confidence in us overcoming.

Is that good news for us? Or not?

Good news.

Probably pegs us at a 6 point deduction, which means we can stop worrying about the different scenarios and simply get on with the task of bettering Luton's results until end of season knowing that if we do that we'll almost certainly better Sheff Utd and Burnley's results as well with a two game head start.

That would put them a point above us with both clubs facing potential future deductions.

They are not celebrating at all on their forum, more angry that its only 4 back. It does look like the perceived delay of the resolution raised expectations that they'd get all their points back and have no case to answer for the 2nd offence. They seem to think now its 4 points back to get 6-10 taken back again.

It means we will get minus six maximum.. our game at Kenilworth Road will be one of the most important games the club have played this century

6 points based on 20m ?, it was 20m after Everton had made massive adjustments getting it down to 20m,

I’d hope-expect that we’ll get a smaller than 6 points as our breach ( my understanding) is an amount that hasn’t been massaged ).

Sickening in a way as during covid Everton’s adjustments were massively overinflated compared to every other premier league club 😕.

You have to assume they're likely to get at least the same deduction as us again, if not worse.

I'd still bet on them to finish above Luton in that scenario, mind you.

I think this probably means Forest could face a maximum 6 points deduction,Rocka.
I’m not really bothered too much about Everton as I think they have the balls for a relegation
battle (which I’m not sure Forest do judging by the Villa capitulation).
I think it’s a straight fight between Forest and Luton for the final relegation spot-the game
at Kenilworth Road in March could prove decisive as could our failure to protect a 2-0 lead
against them at home.
I reckon our chances are around 50/50.

Just been reading Everton’s rolling three year total was 371m against 105m which was allowed……they’ve done what was needed to drive the 371m down to 125m citing various factors 🙄……

Premier League are spineless, I’d like to bet if it was smaller ( perceived club) then the breaches would be based on 371m.

We need to take our medicine come what may, but let’s hope everyone else gets what coming to them.

If you read the findings of the independent commission they refer to the standard 9 point deduction for insolvency & suggest that the original 10 point deduction was hence ‘out of kilter’ - hence reduction to 6 points.
Over to you Mr De Marco.
Yes,I think that is a vital point.
I expect Forest to get a 4-6 points penalty.

The official Everton statement is interesting and unlike their previous one conciliatory, it suggests they are working closely with the Premier League over the 2nd charge. Hopefully it means a reduction of 3 points and an agreement that Everton and Forest will accept this and not pursue an Appeal.

So it should be no more than 6 then. Assuming we get 6, and Everton another 6, then we're effectively 2 points behind Luton, and still one point behind Everton. Obviously puts in the poo, but with a decent chance of climbing out. That's given me some hope actually.

This is good news. I do not see how we can also be given a six point deduction. Can see 3 max for us now.
This is the sentiment for me. We have complied the whole way along the process and been up front about a minor breach. Everton tried to tie the league in knots, duck and dive and blame everyone else. Absolutely no way it can be justified for Forest to get the same penalty as Everton for the first offence when comparing the two situations. I'd expect us to get docked 3 or 4 points now and would be surprised if Everton's second charge wasn't at least another 6. But at the same time I don't trust the league or independent panel to do what's right and fair either.

The news today is definitely good news for us in my view though.
