Favourite Stevie Cooper Era Moment?

Amidst all the negativity and ill feeling, what shouldn't escape our attention is that we've had some incredible moments over the last 26 months with Steve in the dugout and it might be somewhat useful to share them.

I think the easiest one is the Playoff Final so I'll leave that one off my list.
  • Liverpool - FA Cup Quarter Final
Even though we lost to a dodgy decision, it felt like we had a real go that day and the occasion just had you wanting more.
  • Swansea at Home
We absolutely battered them that day, with Sam Surridge on fire. It was the game where I really thought we finally might do it.
  • Sheffield United - Playoff Semi
I don't know if I'll ever experience a game like it again. Against a rival, losing but winning the penalty shootout, the pitch invasion and celebrating after.
  • West Ham at Home
Just that feeling of arriving back in the Premierleague and winning.
  • Liverpool at Home
Beating Liverpool at home, by some miracle to restart our season.
  • Leicester at Home
Morgan and Brennan at their absolute best.
  • Brighton at Home
First half, all seemed lost then Lodi forcing that own goal changed things completely. Morgan's backheel, Danilo's finish.
  • Southampton at Home
    Just a mad, mad game.
  • Arsenal at Home
Pure anxiety for 90 minutes but stopping them from being able to win the title and staying up in the process, plus the post-match celebrations will stay with me for a long time.

Probably Sheff Utd at home.

Strange contender but the Barnsley away game. I remember at half time thinking we were a team completely changed: shackles off, looked like they were enjoying their football. I stuck a rather large bet on us to win the game with the odds massively against us. That 45 minutes felt like everything was changing.

Sheff U in the play-offs at home. Just dispelled so many demons, and made me completely confident that we would win at Wembley.

That run of home games at the back of last season. Brighton, Southampton, Arsenal. The City Ground was magic, and unarguably the best ground to be at in the country.

And about 100 others.

All of them.

GAFF LAD. "Open your knees and feel the breeze"
His first game against Millwall, when he first walked out on to the City Ground pitch and the A-block first chanted "Stevie Cooper leads the Garibaldi..." It felt special.

Oh... and the home playoff v Sheff Utd.

Love you Stevie... thanks for the memories.

Birmingham City away 3-0 - Forest are back chants after we went 3-0 up.
Blackpool Away 4-1 - what a fantastic day that was with some great finishes.
Swansea City away 4-1 - was a long drive and that 2nd half was glorious.
Sheffield United away in the play offs - that is up there with my favourite games of all time. Right on the edge of the seat covering going 2-0 up was absolutely mental. Watching Sheff Utd fans getting pissed off trying to climb up the side of the stadium was definitely a highlight.

First of all thank you will never be enough for what Steve cooper achieved with us for the last 2 years. Along with my lad I was privileged to be at the 9 games listed at the start of this thread. Memories that will never be forgotten.

For me the arsenal game tops the lot - it was 18 months leading up to that 90minutes when every game seemed to have something on it.

thank you again and I hope there’s a part 2 at some point! (Imagine when he comes out onto the pitch!)

Some great ones there, that Blackpool game we looked like the best team in the league and took the absolute piss. Half of Nottingham seemed to stay over too and were very much on the beers!

It’s beginning to sink in that even if we get a better performing team we’ll never reach the same emotional highs than we experienced in the last 2 years 😔

Felt that feeling in summer.

Expectations being pushed ridiculously sky-high, Johnson leaving, Yates getting replaced by Sangare, another massive influx of new players.
