• All - you probably don't need to be told, but....
Despite the Admins' best efforts some spammers/scammers/scalpers are getting through the entry system and are, astonishingly, in possession of FA Cup tickets that they, astonishingly, don't want!

It's probably a scam, and either way it's a criminal offence under section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, (as amended by the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006) to offer or expose tickets for sale.

Please DO NOT engage with these people - please REPORT any threads/posts offering tickets for sale in case we've not caught them.
    Thanks!

Was posted yesterday that it's already been ruled out by him. I like it to us 'asking' Potch a couple of years back, though guess if you don't ask you don't get.

Clearly, a move to two-times European Cup winners, Nottingham Forest, from a club who’ve never so much as sniffed a win of the Big Cup might be a bridge too far!

And I am going to move this to „Forest Banter“ because, why not?

(I tell you, every day I become more of a megalomaniac than General Jack D. Ripper).

Interesting article in the Graun, highlighting Edu‘s involvement with Kia Joorabchian, as well as the statement that if the Brazilian joins „Big“ Evangelos‘ network of clubs, he will apparently triple his salary!

Interesting that Edu is involved with Kia, because I'm sure I saw somewhere that EM and Kia were involved together in horse racing.

They are. EM looks to be putting lots of money behind Amo Racing with Kia (and some other very wealthy, and very well connected, investors).

I believe Edu and Kia are good friends. The dots are all connecting.

Kia has a Brazilian wife and lots of links to Brazil. Previously involved with Corinthians for years

I just hope „Big“ Evangelos doesn’t fancy a go at being a jockey?

Forest's transfer incomings and outgoings since promotion:

All figures in Euros and from Tranfermarkt.

22/23 Income 5m, Expenditure 198.35m, Net -193.35m, Finishing position 16th
23/24 Income 82.82m, Expenditure 127.7m, Net -44.88m, Finishing position 17th
24/25 Income 86.7m, Expenditure 107.5m, Net -20.8m, Currently 3rd

Total net spend since promotion -259.03m, Current squad value 428m, position 3rd

Arsenal's transfer incomings and outgoings under Edu:

Summer 2019 became technical director
19/20 Income 53.65m, Expenditure 160.8m, Net -107.15m, Finishing position 8th
20/21 Income 19.15m, Expenditure 86m, Net -66.85m, Finishing position 8th
Nov 2022 became sporting director
21/22 Income 31.4m, Expenditure 167.4m, Net -136m, Finishing position 5th
22/23 Income 23.8m, Expenditure 186.4m, Net -162.6m, Finishing position 2nd
23/24 Income 69.2m, Expenditure 235.1m, Net -169.5m, Finishing position 2nd
24/25 Income 83.79m, Expenditure 108.9m, Net -25.11m, Currently 5th

Total net spend since Edu -667.21m, Current squad value 1.16b, position 5th

I would say coming from 23 years outside the Premier league with 5 loanees in the starting XI, and currently sitting 3rd having a net spend of only only 259m is remarkable achievement and is much better than what Arsenal have done under Edu. Losing just Odegard seems to have had a major impact on their team where as we are without 2 main men in midfield. They don't have a no 9 never mind a back up having spent 100s of millions on players whereas we have 2 players for every position.

It is also easier to attract good players when you are a club of Arsenal's stature and it has been obvious to anyone looking from the outside that they desperately need a CF up front but have been relying on the likes of Jesus, Havertz, Saka, Martinelli, Trossard instead. Perhaps it was Arteta who wants to play a false 9 having been a Pep disciple but it looks like it will end up backfiring.

Word is that Edu had been told some time ago that Arsenal would be going down the mulit-club route, something which Edu wanted for him to expand his role. Apparently he'd become quite disillusioned at this expansion not happening and he felt he'd taken Arsenal as far as he could within his role.

Marinakis basically offered him everything that he wanted which is a lot of control in multi-club ownership with the next stage being the purchase of a Brazilian club.

Is the multi-club route the right route to follow?
(Ansers should no more than 1,000 words, and include reasoned argument to support your hypothesis)

Edu's role appears to be working for the Marinakis club portfolio company. So doubt that Forest will make any announcement.

Not sure about the structure of the Portfolio company - if such a thing exists. Expect it to be domiciled in Greece. Maybe, tax reasons for it to based eleswhere

Presumably , he has a say in our senior Football management hires and contracts. For example, Ross Wilson and Nuno's contracts as well as key players
On the contrary, I fully expect Edu (and even François Modesto, who is heavily rumoured to return to EM's football consortium) to sign for you. Remember that, if both clubs play at the CL, they need to show to UEFA (i.e. to pretend) that they are run by completely different people, without one set of people having any say at the other club's operation. Officially, therefore, there cannot be such a thing as a portfolio company for all EM's clubs. All the Edus and Modestos who will, in fact, be working for the consortium, will have to be officially employees of only one club. And given that the big bucks are at Nottingham and not at Piraeus, I guess they'll sign for you.

I actually wondered whether, because EUFA isn't a factor, that they might end up employed by the Brazillian club EM is buying.

Ah. Thanks for clarification.

My thought was that he would spend time where he was most needed, therefore a fluid role.

Which I too presumed would be bedding in the new Brazilian Club and South American recruitment plans.

But I can see how UEFA would want accountability and to see his cost sit on one balance sheet.

Is the UEFA ruling specific to being in the CL or does it stretch to any of their associated competitions?
