A great analysis,Statto.thing is actually I think we did a f***ing brilliant job getting in some of the quality we did with the umbongo.
There's no doubt Billy and Jim Price encouraged Fatwatz to spend big in their summer window, so we ended up with the likes of Patterson coming in for pretty sizeable amounts, then we got Psycho and actually although we sold Darlow and Lascelles we still spent all of that money basically on Assombalonga and Antonio (who likewise recouped a lot in resale value) but then also the likes of Matty Fryatt, Robert Tesche, Michael Mancienne can't have been cheap either.
So it's not too surprising we ended up in that situation but the likes of Ryan Mendes, Chris O'Grady, Matt Mills, Danny Pinillos, Jamie Ward (though he was a smunt and better at tennis), Nelson Oliviera, Bojan Jokic, all coming in for nothing or on loan, was reasonably decent quality to bring in under restrictions.
Freedman did a good job under difficult circumstances really.
I don't disagree what you say about Dougie, for where we were at the time I thought Olivera was a right land, but...thing is actually I think we did a f***ing brilliant job getting in some of the quality we did with the umbongo.

....is a stretch. He came in for an undisclosed amount for a fee rumoured to be under 1m, rising just above that with add-ons.we ended up with the likes of Patterson coming in for pretty sizeable amounts,
His list was bigger than Schindler‘s.if it wasn't for that umbungo, his list was crazy!
I've heard he's not even able to do the bean dance.I'm not convinced
Can someone list out his tricks please?
Totally agree, the way he got the job and methodically learnt about FFP and the embargo and then found them signings nearly single handedly.thing is actually I think we did a f***ing brilliant job getting in some of the quality we did with the umbongo.
