Dougie has only gone and...

Didn't see the MotD in question, but sounds like Darlow took a slightly unfair shoeing. I know on Soccer Saturday his performance was described as impeccable right up until he dropped the ricket that cost them the game. Shame for the lad. Such is the lot of the GK, I suppose.

Good stuff as ever, Rich. Only small thing I'd change is swap differently in for different on line two.

He did come for a punch and got well under it, making the ball fly backwards and very nearly goal wards.

I think he made a couple of decent stops, but he did look nervous.

Valid grammatical correction too. Bit too much work to change it now, mind!

Maybe it was MOTD editing but he didnt look confident at all which i find strange as i found one of his strengths was his confidence.... i remember his first game v the sheep where they tried to clatter him to unnerve him and he just shook them off as if to say "who the f*** are you"?

Jeff Stelling at one point said "how do Newcastle keep unearthing keepers?" which seemed a bit of an insult to us, but all the same seemed to reflect well on Darlow's performance. I think it was Merson covering the game and was also full of praise for him right up until the mistake.

I still think him, Lascelles and Bamford will all play for England.

Seeing as Hodgson gives out caps like sweets, he may do.

However, bearing in mind Butland is younger than Darlow and clearly so much better, I can't see Darlow being a regular fixture. We probably have another 10 years of Joe Hart as #1 as well, which is no bad thing.

i dont ssee Darlow being good enough for england tbh

I was looking at Paul Taylors webchat today and someone said something along the lines of "if we fail to beat Bolton and then lose to Boro, Dougie could/should be sacked" given that that means we could draw with Bolton and then lose 1 game after not having lost in 11, thats a bit crazy, isnt it?

Good stuff that.

Think it highlights that Freedman is becoming one of the most divisive managers I can remember here. Unbeaten runs are great if they get you moving & breed the confidence to improve, personally don't think its served to do either & the footballs been hard watching too. The team rotated to the point its unrecognisable aint doing nothing for momentum & points.

Dont think weve dominated anyone, Fulham, Reading & Mk are the standout results but all three bossed the stats & knocked it about more proficiently than us. Poor sides that had us rely mainly on set pieces & infrequent counter attacks for success. Didnt feel we were good value for any of them.

Freedmans recruited well, but if we have an issue with the strikers he acquired, then maybe he should push up the midfield to compensate as opposed to abandoning them & relying on defence instead. It may make the football more appealing & get a few more fans to buy into his Championship football.

Tomorrows game will tell us where we go from here.

Bill, did you always have this opinion about dougie?

But anyway, embargo season just stay in the league, then go balls out next season. Not toooo balls out tho, not another embargo please.

You spelt Barry wrong....i dont like him claggers he keeps shooting himself in the foot with his over cautious approach but I've always maintained he needs the season as does any manager. Problem is the away fans singing attack attack attack at the manager and the manager doing everything but that will not be lost on fazza. I'll be surprised if he is in charge come the new season.

Well i hope next season he will be less of a pussy and let the players move up a little and attack, that's assuming he's still here.

Or

Maybe dougie is just here to steady the ship, fawaz then will hire a much better manager next season and dougie will be off to another club as his career has been reignited as I don't wish negative things to happen to him in the future.

The best teams are built from the back.

Perhaps Dougie's philosophy is to stop us leaking goals, become more defensively solid, and then throw off the shackles a bit?

How about this season he starts to be less of a pussy..... Then he might be here next year?

Perhaps, and maybe he's working at that and that's why I want to see Olivier play. He's bum f**ked any fullback on is side and almost scored 2 winning goals. Also, if olivieria made his two shots that wouldve won those games, the undefeated run could've looked much better.

Well yes that's what I would've thought is happening right now and I don't mind it either, but everyone is becoming restless, and one of these endless draws, fawaz will too. Or that's what I fear.

I doubt it mate. What you see is what you get. He probably wipes his arse in a cautious manner, bless him

I'm watching Burnley destroy Brentford and it's not even funny how far we are from being a promotion contender

Billy Davies should've never acted like a cun7.

But thats my point, you say if nelson would have bagged the run would look better which is correct, but you cant discount chances the other sides have missed. DDV pulled a worldie off in the second half v brum, wood missed his two chances, cardiff player missed an easy header he should have scored etc etc etc..... Being unbeaten is great, but its not got us anywhere really.

Id be more impressed in him losing a game trying to win it than i would be taking the point at 70 mins... I go to be entertained not frustrated.

I love you Barry, we're shit. I don't expect to go anywhere this season so I'm lenient with our shitness. Right now.
