Does anyone remember League 1 Derby County? (STILL the worst team in history!)

It was £40m a few days ago. Despite this amazing offer, there doesn't seem to be much movement. I wonder why?
They are waiting for Mike Ashley to come in and hire Joe Kinnear as debt analyst

Hans von Dunkelroter is considering a revised bid with Gulf oil magnate, Sheilh Yahbouti.

I hear a couple of interested parties could be getting together with religious leader Iman Imout and Sheikh Itallabout ... but apparently they can't make their minds up, they're in/out, in/out

Sorry Natalie, but not a chance this is true.

Nobody is bidding £50m for them, Birmingham are about to go for half that - WITH the Stadium & training ground, however run down they are.

Appleby may bid for them, but this ain't the amount he, or anybody is bidding. If it were the case Kirchner would have been in the bin a month ago.
Have you factored in “Derby are founder members of the football league don’t you know” premium? got to bump up the price surely

If we all chipped in a few quid we could probably buy them.

All night rave in the stadium, and then wind them up and use the land as a 'park and ride' for all our new fans.

Gotta be worth a go surely.
Turn it into a cinema which only shows 'I Believe in Miracles', 24 hours a day.

The thing is, being semi-serious for a moment, Derby really aren’t all that much of a draw.

They wouldn’t bring much to the top flight (unless you’re talking about the permanent label of being a laughing stock) and even in the Championship or League One, their following and media pull pales into comparison with the likes of Sunderland, the Sheffield clubs, Middlesbrough, Bolton or even Ipswich Town.

They really do have an inflated opinion of what they bring to the league, and even if they spent the next decade cocking about in the lower divisions, they really won’t be missed.

Unlike some of the sides listed above, who I’m sure the top flight would welcome back, instead of tinpot outfits like Ballmouth and Fulham.

I would invest a substantial sum into this idea.

Sunderland is a bigger club (and now above Derby in the league ladder.) Ipswitch are one of those you want back in the PL.

Thought you’d fancy a fairground on the site Rocka?

They’ve tried the comedy club for years.

Yeah, it maybe my age but when Forest were wiping the floor with all comers in the late 70s and 80s under Mr. Clough, Ipswich Town were also thereabouts with cult players like John Wark and Mick Mills, and of course they won a European trophy under Bobby Robson in 81.

A proper Football Club they are as well.

Completely agree. As I have said in the past, IMO they are just Coventry City but with a more obnoxious fanbase.
